Launching

Better to be over fuelling than under fuelling though is it not? Am I not correct in saying that if the car is over fuelling then the spark plugs would be black and sooty and if it was under fuelling then they would be white?

Overfuelling = less power, lower MPG
Underfuelling = blown engine

I'd rather over fuel. Looking at the colour of the plugs is the old skool NA way of working it out. A wideband reading will offer a far better explanation of what is happening with your air/fuel mix.

Don't really love the box would much rather have a manual but that's life. How much is a autobox to buy? Yeah I know someone with a wideband that I can borrow to get some readings to check. What is the ideal range?

I never thought i'd say this but i miss my auto box, so easy to drive and it surprised a lot of auto bashers with just 135whp. Sadly lack of knowledge on my part led to the boxes demise but it was fun while it lasted. To launch i held the brake on as hard as i could reved it until it started to creep forward then let the brakes off. Auto boxes can be picked up cheap enough maybe even free from someone doing a conversion, to convert to manual cost me the bones of €1000

variable AFR

i concur weeJohn, was just trying to say that if you idle readings are off, then you are going to be in a worse state when you start doing pulls.. :) of course when boosting, your AFRs will get adjusted accordingly..
