they were better than us, but we didnt exactly make it hard for them. only Ferdinand deserved to walk off the pitch for us with his head high, the rest looked like they were playing pub football

i dont think the formation helped.

we should stick to 4-4-2

or atleast dont put rooney down the righthand side.

hes like gerrard because he can play anywhere hes being mis-used!

will be even worse when ronaldos back, wat are we gonna play like?

its sorta makingit harder having even better players.

i think that we should stick to 4-4-2 tho and some1 will have to be sacrificed, and that means atleast we would have a bit more power from the bench

Man Utd were the better team first half then just seemed to ease off and let Liverpool take control 2nd half. Cant believe Van Der Sar had 2 blunders ... really unlike him. Shame, would've probally ended 1-1. Cant wait for Ronaldo to make his return to Man Utd, will make all the difference with a play maker and top goal scorer.

But what about Robinho with his debut for Man City lol cant get a better start than that. Problem with Man City is they dont think as fast as Robinho and are not on the same level.

Van Der Sars looked quite risky for while now, never seems to command his box and hes been struggling we corners. United have never really replaced the Great Dane, big Pete. Ronaldo might be on the bench for wednesday

thats very unfair to say dingle, van der sar has been a hug asset to manchester united.

yes no 1 will probably live up to schemicheal as he was a huge player for us, but van der sar has been the best for us for a long while now, and he still makes a huge difference.

ok hes made a mistake but so does cech just as often etc, cant be perfect everygame!

he still stopped a few shots that could of been goals neway in the liverpool match.

i have full faith in edwin still

Agreed fully,

Van Der Sar is an awesome goalkeeper, every keeper has a day of slip up's and unfortuently his was that day. He will look back at the footage and know what he should have done.

the problem was it was gonna be a simple catch for him, but that deflection really caught him out and he had no choice but to try and claim it as he was halfway out already.

if wes brown wasnt in the way the ball would of gone out for a throw but unfortunately wrong place / wrong time.

liverpool just obviously wanted it more, im feeling slightly less bitter today but it still hurts :p

Yup sure does, especially getting off to a flyer like we did with Tevez scoring so early. Berbatov didnt get the chances he needed and Rooney was playing wide right ... just isent his style of play.

Wes Brown was marking the man coming in, why it wasent caught i wont know although it did look like abit of a stretch to be fair.

yeah if u saw the replay of the cross you will see why, it completely went a different direction and edwin was at full stretch to get it, possibly wes would of delt with it if Ed didnt try get there first but who knows.

hinesight is a bitch lol

LONG POST WARNING HERE, its mainly for adam as he seems to be a fellow red that knows what hes on about id like to hear his views, but also everybody elses that wishes to contribute!

Van der sar does make a few costly errors of judgement but it doesnt usually cost us like that, although i am always pooing it a bit when theres a high cross coming into our box near him. apart from that though hes a class keeper, definately one of the best. how cech won keeper of the year award is beyond me, one of them won the premiership and champions league (he played a massive part in the pens) and the other one didnt. i dont think the judging panel particularly liked Manchester United, but who does apart from United and Wigan fans!

With regards to the game on Saturday, United were absolute toss, after 17 minutes we just gave the game to them on a plate. the game was lost in midfield, we were simply outplayed, Scholes had a stinker of a game which is HIGHLY unusual for him, and the rest of the team didnt really show the passion needed to win. Liverpool got a couple of lucky breaks in us scoring for them, Giggs handing the second goal over which Babel very nearly messed up. But like i said, they were the better team and deserved winners.

As to uniteds best starting line up well the defence speaks for itself, we need to get foster starting a few more games though, we can never be sure how much longer VDS has got.
midfield is where it starts to get difficult, ronaldo is a starter obviously then in midfield id have to have scholes, providing that performance yesterday was a one off. then for me carrick gets in ahead of anderson, with Giggs and Nani sharing responsibility of the left mid. this leaves us with anderson, hargreaves (would include in every champions league game) o shea fletcher and park as cover.
up front i guess we'l just have to see what works between the TEvez Rooney and Berbatov, to be honest in the predicament of having to leave an awesome forward on the bench is much better than the one we faced last season when at times we only had one striker. id probably bias is slightly with berbatov and tevez at the moment as tevez's form for united is better imo than rooneys but i would hope that rooney will push tevez out of that 11 soon.

Liverpool dominated the game yesterday and deserved the win.

Manchester United, even with Berbatov looked very average on the day.
