longer 5th gear?

is there any cars that a longer 5th can be sourced from for a gt?

Also what rpms is everyone doing 60 at?

I think one from a diesel gearbox should work

ah thats ok, i fitted another gearbox a few monts back and thought i had a shorter 5th in it, looks like i havent which is ok then!

Aww I'm in for a treat! Forgot how long the gears where in the GT!

the final drive I had in at 70mph she was near 4200rpm! Best thing though to make you drive slower!

That's precisely what I do with the stock gearbox in my Cynos ^^^

Really annoying that it revs so high at only 70mph, but all is well as a C56 is going in

im pretty sure the toyota paseo has a longer 5th gear ratio

Bit off topic here but kind of related. Wha speed would a starlet do if it could reach the limiter in 5th. I've been trying to find a thread about what speed a gt does in each gear but can't find anything

Dependent on rev limiter and tyre size but in and around 156mph I think is the general agreement.

I had your final drive in, so mine musta been about 4k too then, think the rev counter reads a little high on mine.

my car got no rev limiter but iv taken it to about 6200revs in 5th it didnt feel lyk 150 mph its on 45wall 15s tho :drive:
