Lsd

im thinking of a LSD for my V! whats the best available in the market? it wil be used strictly for road use (no tracks or drag), so whats the best to choose from a 1 or 1.5way? helical or clutch type? where the best traders or sites to buy from one?

looking forward to hear your experiences guys, thnks in advance

Well 1way only works on acceleration and 1.5way works fully on acceleration and 50% on braking so it's really a personal choice which one you go for. As for Clutch type or Helical, well if you don't mind having to get it rebuilt then the clutch type is better as the helical need to have the same grip at both wheels to work properly (they dont work on snow/ice etc or if one wheel leave the ground). As for what traders, im not sure but do a search and you should be able to find out easy enough

Well then if it was ME buying it and it was under the same circumstances as you, then I personally would go for a TRD clutch type 1.5way. This is what I had and I NEVER had any problem with mine and it REALLY was one on the BEST things about my car. My car had 46,000kms on it when I got it and the LSD was fitted to it when I got it and it had 83,000kms when she came off the road and LSD was perfect when it came out so it doesn't need to be rebuilt that often.

Jeez man, sorry to hear about your gearbox, that was very unlucky because from what I have heard, when they need a rebuild they just act like an open LSD and don't work at all

nice to be in Gozo, i live not far away from Xaghra and it would be my pleasure if we could met as gozo is so small and as there are around a dozen of hot starlets here! in summer the drag strip in Malta is only open on thursday night unfortunately

N.B. my profile pic is taken right at Xaghra main roundabout before you go uphill to the centre, thats the route of one of the rounds from Maltese Hillclimb championship too :)

Quaiffe, fit and forget. No clunks no bangs, silent as hell.
But when the spirited drive comes around, it works so damn well.

I went from a Cusco plated diff to the Quaiffe, best thing i done.

I am running with a Quaiffe ATB. It's great. I can really recommend one. And it's not the last time I am going to fit one to my cars.

Yeah, I am using the standard oil recommended by Toyota.
Quaiffe say that it is important to use the standard oil, that's recommended by the car manufacturer.
