very true dude :) just know that some people will pile into this thread and start complaining that people are talking about a closed door policy for immigrants.

Personally I think people from the UK are very welcoming and some people from other countries take advantage of that hugely.

yeah us irish dylan!lol

braught in all the poles,who are still here on the dole..just today i heard 28 of them were using one house address to claim the dole,bloody twats:mad:

I would agree with the points of the speech if it were made by the British PM. However it's more than a bit hypocritical coming from an Australian! 'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND' don't think so mate!:homer:

Think they are forgetting about the aborigines and their shamefull treatment towards them!

nah I disagree mate. Polish people are hard workers. Id say the proportion of Polish people committing welfare fraud compared to the amount of Irish people is very low. Polish people have a good work ethic and are no different to how the Irish were in the 60's 70's and 80's traveling around and finding work.

Poland will now be the huge success story of Europe just like Ireland was until last year... many Irish people have treated Polish people very badly and in time Irish people may be knocking on the door of Poland looking for work... I just hope they have a good attitude when we arrive at their door.

Imagrants are every where, the ones that keep them selfs to them selfs, work hard and don't cause any problems are fine.

I do however have a problem for the ones that come over, go on the dole and don't contribute a thing and then have the cheek to complain about stuff (st georges day, england flags on cars, teachers wearing crosses etc) when the other religions come over, go to these schools and refuse to remove head scalfs etc...not even wanting to meet half way, asthough they want us to change our way of life to suit them.

Also hate the fact that a huge % come over and don't bother to learn the language... if you ask me that should be a minimum requirement.

God knows if i made any sence but i know what i mean!!

Apparently companys looking for workers in Poland have signs up saying "Irish need not apply"
Dont quote me on that though, that was just a rumour going round here recently!

I heard that those companies were Irish owned construction companies based in Poland...

we can groan and moan but there aint a single thing you can do about people from other places coming over here. if the standard of living is better here than other places then people will want to come. if you ban it, they will come illegally.

its also human nature to stick to your own kind so in any country where this happens you will have little comunities of different people. true integration is rare. people just cant be arsed to learn the lingo.

its obviously right that the government should make integration easier by making immigrants learn the lingo, respect the countries traditions and laws, and chuck them out if they dont.

problem is all governments dont like hassle. just do the least offensive thing all the time to get yourself re-elected. nothing to offend minorities, they seem to moan the most(my human rights etc)

so we should just deal with it. reckon the recession should redress the balance a little

Sadly, as much as I agree with it, it was in fact not said by the Australian PM.

Turns out it was a hugely twisted, incorrected and modified article by the PREVIOUS PM of Australia. This was then circulated as a "chain" e-mail, which later had both the name and photo of the PM altered to show the new PM's photo and name.

I suppose I like the Australian approach to immigration. You need a certain amount of money in the bank if you want to go there to live. It stops people sponging off the state.

There must be barely any money left in that sponge the UK has, good to see our taxes going to such excellent use while supporting these immigrants, thats exactly why i want to work!!

Problem is its gone to far in this country to ever be like that.

The only changes we will ever have in the country will be for the worse rather than the better.

I dont think its fair to blame it on the government anymore its got to a point now where its even out of there power. The government themselves have to be careful about what they do otherwise they get branded racist aswell.
