MK1 GT coughing & spluttering in high gear

Hey,

My car drives absolutely fine apart from when I put it in 4th/5th gear at a lowish speed and put my foot down.

Splutters and jolts quite a bit.

Recently serviced...

Any ideas?

Car is also whistling when not in boost (sounds like the something in the dash) Could these be linked?

Probably best to check the fault codes to see if they can give you a clue, the guide is in the Awesome Section of the site.

a paperclip and the ability to count is all that is required

Hmmm, think the engine management light has been taken out of the clocks as it doesnt light up on ignition...

Stick a new bulb in it.

It's a common thing for people to do to either get the car though mot or to bodge a car up and sell it
