most suitable cams for drag starlet

hi guys,

would like to know what is the best spec for cams to be used on a 5Efte motor,
running drag strip 350m - 400m

current setup :
fully forged internal, ( ross pistons n pauter rods )
55mm throttle body
5e high lift cams
speedvision valve springs
1.4 metal gasket
acl bearing
arp complete stud
copy of full race turbo header
garret a/r60 ballbearing turbo ( from nissan vq series - exh fin is ceramic )
e-manage ultimate - upgradin to haltech/microtech
greddy profec b spec2
2x bosch fuel pump
sard fuel regulator
custom fmic

any ideas on the spec of cams i should use to run drag strip ?

There's no right or wrong answer, as Chris says, what revs do you want to be using? Thats what decides where you want to place your powerband.

hi all..

1st gear - until 7200rpm
2nd gear - until 8000rpm
3rd gear - until 8000rpm
4th gear - will release throttle as it will be end of drag strip

rev limiter raised by emu..
but my 2nd gear will be too quick hitting 8k rpm...so when i shift to 3rd, it will require longer time to hit full boost..usually on 3rd gear, the lancer gsr ( 1.8cc turbo )will be overtaking me already
i run in the 1.8turbo cat as that is the only option here around my drag strip...
fastest timing was only 11.3 sec for 300m...pretty slow.....
using 5e on a daihatsu charade...with R888 @ 15-17 psi
my exhaust exits on the the right hand side of my front bumper...

At what RPM does the engine reach full boost?? What size slicks and how much PSI are you using in the tires??

what a/r's are you running on the turbo?

sounds like ur either not boosting enough/ or its run out of its efficiency for ur setup...

for a drag setup it is always reccomended to use higher lift, but retaining the duration as standardish as possible..

not sure bout the a/r..i cud post a dyno graph though...
my tuner says the turbo reach it max efficiency ( exzhaust fin is cerammic so he doesnt recommend any boost higher than 1.5 bar )

kon, so the 5efhe cams are enuff, just i need to get the correct turbo?

I have 5efhe cams in mine but I am thinking of swapping the exhaust cam back to a 4efte one as the 5efhe opens a lot sooner down the compression stroke and I feel I may be losing out somewhat on it.

Its still on my to do list which is not really getting done but I hope to know in the next few weeks so I will post the results.
