Then no offence intended, but you really shouldnt even be considering driving as your not insured!

Keep the meets above board chaps, the last thing the starlet scene needs is a bad name!

Although I do recall a certain convoy of starlets being pulled over but unmarked cars for "not knowing the speed limit on a motorway"...

you know who you are :haha:

so your insured on a car with no nct (which is MOT) in the Republic of Ireland, and no road tax?

Do you insurers know that the car hasn't passed a roadworthyness test?

*oh and just to edit this, I have had a Gt pulled and the bonnet asked to be opened, when I questioned why, I was told direct from the traffic officer "Alot of these boys are insuring them as 1.3i cars, but we know what to look for"

so to each their own.....

U be suprised what you get away with down south, i am from Dublin and living up here now about 4 years and difference is unreal. I drove my car in Rep for like a year with no tax, went to station and got form signed by Police to say it was offroad not a bother lol. They are useless the Guards.

there may well be a way around it if you know the loopholes or whatever.

BUT, if you crash the first thing your insurer will ask for is proof of tax and NCT. You cant drive an un road worthy car on the road.

*taken from NCT site*

Did you know that from the 1st May 2009, driving a car without a valid NCT may attract up to five penalty points in addition to any fine imposed upon conviction in Court. *

oh and just to add, Ive NCt'd a few cars in donegal as my family have had a house there for 30+ years.

Your only kidding yourself, Im not trying to argue, I would just like to think that the starlet meets attract little attention due to the drivers making sure everything was above board and legal,

but good luck.

Looks like I will be there. In a Diesel!

Just to add to Animal_GT's bit about no tax or NCT. Insurance will cover you ok if you have proof that it is at least booked in for NCT.

I would like to know what exactly PSNI can do to a Southern Reg car that has no tax.

Yea I know that they work together but I see numerous northern cars coming up to south with no tax and Gardai don't waste their time!

Anyway lets go back on topic:)
