Trap speed will increase slightly as your 60' increases, however in finx's car this is a virtual non issue, it's so top end limited that the difference is minimal.

Regarding your issues ted, I suspect the good result is due to the extremely wide and flat torque curve a well tuned CT9 on a 5e has and there's absolutely no wheelspin beyond the very first second or so of the launch. If you have high power, you can wheelspin the length of the track, trap at 120 mph and still run a high 14. Strap on some drag radials and try again, it might help with your ET's.

The discussion around .1 off the 60' meaning .3 off the ET is valid for RWD cars, less so for front wheel drives, in my experience it's more like 1:2 ratio for some reason.

Don't think our 4WD boys are getting any wheelspin lol!

Cracking time, I've decided not to worry how quick guys are going in other countries with less power and just enjoy the videos :drive:

Drag slicks FTW!

The terminal time would seem to be ok, my fastest time of 13.1 was only 105mph I think, I've ran as high as 115mph and done slower passes. Seen Evos running 12.8s and only a terminal of 98mph.

so can it be possaible to run 11s in a 350bhp car then:confused:i still think bishopcourts surface has alot to do with the times over here were going to have to do a few runs in santapod sometime:)

Bishops court is pants!

I'll defo head over to the Pod this year and test out the car there. I've concentrated on changing alot of things on my car this year that are non power related, so hopfully the setup adds a bit to the performance of the car.

Finx's car is prolly well down in the 700kgs range too.

thanks again for the kind words guys. its taken a season and a half to get the car to where it is now from a 14.3sec previous PB when i first raced it with the current engine package. there is room for improvement still with more power to be extracted over the coming weeks. heres hoping i can bring the times down even further.

car isnt as light as you would think, it is lighter than your average gt thou ill give you that.

11s are definitely possible with 350bhp.
two guys in nz have high 11s with just over 200 wheel kw or in your terms early 300bhp on the same track that i race at. one in 2002 and the lastest and new nz record held by slostar a year or so ago at 11.75sec

coilovers are a great advantage to dial the car in for a good launch. pointing the weight over the front wheels makes a massive difference.
with drag slicks i have found arent doing much for my times as i am top end power limited and also limited to how fast i can get the 60ft to with the pissy small turbo im running. i was running the same 2.0 60ft times on old as toyo r881 semi slicks before i purchased the hoosier drag radials. they do help with consistency however.
with more power the drag radials would come into their own as i would be able to use more power to the ground during the 60ft and the time saved there wouldnt be wasted at the other end of the track like it currently is with the point to which i am at with the package.

haha cheers for posting those up, you beat me to it :p
as you can see from that 13.2sec vid 3rd gear is where i lack the power. im doing 135km/h (82 ish mph) by half track and im already in 3rd gear

yehp have done 7x 13.2sec runs from the last 21 runs in 3 meetings within a month. not one of those 21 runs was slower than 13.7sec and 75% are 13.4 or faster
