Oil Cooler Suggestions

Hello Guys ,

During cruise my oil temp raises to slowly raises to 80C ( on a 30km drive to my office ), while on spirited driving it gets much quickly to 80+C . I am running a 1 bar td04 4efte with all the supporting mods . My tuner has recommended me an oil cooler . However i need some more opinions on this ? I run 20w/50w engine oil .

Any help will be greatly appreciated .

Too thin when hot, it will increase your oil temps.

That oil temp should be fine its only when you get into 100 and 120 degree's that you should worry. If you do want one we can supply you a HEL performance kit.

Suggestion regarding oil cooler on a weekend only car ? . I am getting an oil cooler for pretty cheap , but its without a thermostat . The car is used only on weekends for the track .

Correct if I'm wrong, but I thought the 50 would be thinner than a 40?

You don't need one for the temps you're seeing. Even with a thermostat the oil can be over-cooled with a cooler so without it will be worse.

I agree with above, with no need for it, if it was over 100 C then I would say yes.
