Oil Temp Sensor!!!

Hi have just bought three new gauges for my starlet have wired to up but have no clue on how to wire up the oil temp gauge,can anybody help,pics?

easiest way is to use an oil sandwich plate that sits between the oil filter and housing

Easy only when you have no power steering, otherwise the bracket for the pump gets right in the way.

If you do a search there's been a few threads on fitting oil temp and pressure sensors, easiest imo is using a "t piece" from where the standard oil pressure switch is.

ah, having a flintstones spec starlet i didn't know there were fitting issues with the sandwhich plate and PAS...

as what dub said, but on GTs its hard to do so as power steering pump gets in the way, so another way is...

Behind the cat/decat there is your oil pressure sensor/switch...you can buy like a t piece that goes on to the block, plug in existing sensor, and you can also plug in yoru oil temp sensor.

Theres a rather good discussion about this, think lewis - Black_Mamba started it, so do a search - between discussed several times before.

^^^ was just about to dig that thread out. SHould help alot of people as it had a lot of people posting and helping me out on that one :D
