Possible bottom end starting to go

Been told today possibly bottom ends starting to go. He shown me when he revs the car just before dumpvalve and wastegate noise you can hear it abit does t sound to bad but that's just at the moment, has anyone had there's go ? What they reckon?

all you have seemed to have is problems with it :(

and yes i have had a bottom end go there wasnt any syptoms at all just driving along at 40mph and bang felt like someone hit me up the arse. The noise is horrible too!!
 
A Toyota specialist I tak it to in droitwhich he knows his stuff mate he ent normally wrong. And Ye I've had loads of problems m8 the car is an electrical nightmare, seems sweet now but hees gna whip of the sump and check all that for me cause I don't no what I'm Lookin for really with engine internals and hees the best person to take a glanza to that I no
 
It isn't a knocking sound it's hard to hear tbh you've got to listen for it. I always thought a bottom end problem was knocking but he did say it could be the start of the problem but all find out Monday when he looks

clutch in and bring up the revs slowly, if its the bottom end going ull hear it knocking between 1500 and 2000rpm... im saying clutch in to get rid of any gearbox clutch noise so ull hear it better

. Before yours went did you notice any engine noises before it went?

Nothing Dan mate just gave way on the collector road by the fort shopping centre.

One thing I did notice was that the car seemed alot faster and more responsive for the few days before the engine did decide to give way.

Hope you get everything sorted because these cars can be bloody nightmares but once fully sorted they are a dream :)
 
Ye mines been a nightmare so far. it's an old car that's Guna always be thrashed so it's likely to hav problems tbh, plus mine was pretty neglected and needed alot of tlc. Shouldn't of bought it tbh with you. But from what everyones telling me on here it doesn't sound like bottom end problem at all, it's when the revs are high, 1500 to 2000 is low. it didn't sound like nothin much to me but as soon as he said bottom end I feared the worst. Bees checking it Monday/ whipin the sump of and gna let me know.

If it has gone I'd be more worried about why it has gone. Generally happens due to oil starvation, maybe oil pump is on it's way out?
 
Hasn't gone yet and I ent been keeping an eye on the oil level and was fairly low been filled up now, if the oil pump would have gone he would of found that, I'll ask him when I see him next after he checks it out

are you the kid that had the gearbox earth problem mate? lol, doesnt sound like you have had the best of luck tbh, everytime you post it seems to be a new problem!

how much did you pay for the glanza out of curiosity?
 
Ye I am m8 he fixed that then noticed this. Swapped it for my old seat Leon m8. To finish it of the car needs new engine mounts aswell lol look at all my threads shows the problems I've had with it since Iv had it October. The cars Running the best it's Ever run now, hks actuator on and faster startin starter motor no warnin lights lol

These is the possibility that at some stage the car has ran low on oil and had abit of spirited driving which has caused oil to splash from side to side and starve one of the bearings? Hard to say without the sump coming off.

Could also drain the oil and see if you have any metal shavings also.
 
Ye that does sound likely, I'll find out Monday. Topped up now and Guna b changed with filter then I'll keep a close eye on oil
level from now on

I heard a knocking sound when i revved mine to 2000rpm and it turned out my bottom end had gone :/ it had spun a shell, having it fully forged now
 
See mine ent knocking sound at all, but he's checkin it Monday the shells and that. Possibly thinking now it could running lean as I ent got an fpr on and Running 13 psi on my actuator with a fcd. Bought a fpr now just waiting for it to come
 
Ye could I leave that for now aslong as I've got the fpr on my cars safer ? I wanna change the manifold aswell next month kinda don't wanna spend to much if I might have to shell out for replacement engine parts. Another thing we noticed is some oil coming out of the breather, I've sin a glanza on here on the garage bit and they noticed it on there's and had a compression test turned out to be a piston ring had gone
