I strongly agree with Tim here.
I used Kevin in the past for the cambelt job + seals, waterpump replacement and engine mounts replacement, now I wish that I went to Tim in the first place.
My car is an Auto but I wanted to put the TRD (Manual) engine mounts on it and Kevin said that the Gearbox mount doesn't fit and that it would take him the whole day to fit it, he also said not to worry about the old mount as it's "a heavy duty mount in good condition"!
Well after speaking to Jay on the forum I was told that it's not that hard to fit the engine mount and other mechanic fitted it for me within 1 hour, but it's not just that. When Kevin took the old mount off and then put it back on he didn't tighten the bolt properly and I was lucky that I didn't drop the gearbox while driving.....
Here is the pic of my old mount and Kevin ("pro mechanic") said that it's in "good" condition!
And this is the pic of the Auto mount and the TRD Manual non LSD mount,so you can see that it does indeed need some modification, but would that really take the whole day?
First of all Paul, Mechanics dont just work on 1 car per day and because your car appears to them doesnt mean its first in line also, thats why you leave it with them.
Kevin went over and above on your job also and done more little niggles that he ironed out, also replaced your coolant. Now if you remember correctly he did say the coolant would go down a little and to keep your eye on it which you chose to ignore and send me a message asking why its went down.
You also blamed Kevin for a increase in noise in your exhaust and loss of power to which you blamed it on the Cambelt change? He stated you had a crack in your Manifold and myself and other forum members stated that was the issue and once you got it sorted it fixed the issue.
You question why he adjusted your seat ... ? Still i cant get my head around this to one even to this day. Not everyone in this world is the same height.
You also wanted a discount on the work done if you paid cash after being quoted a price.
I could go on and on and on.
FACT is, its changed days out there in the world of Mechanics due to Forums. You ask a question on the forums and a forum mechanic is willing to answer it and slate the previous mechanic who done the work on the car. There are plenty of members on here who use Kevin on a regular basis and run his Forged engines without any grief.
