Power FC boost control unit & 3bar map sensor install

That's nice info !!!! So I'll write 1 bar and 0% duty cicle, just to see if I don't get any fuelcut anymore :)

not sure it can be uploaded here. but I'm sure Dylan would host the file.
we definitly need to do a PFC sticky topic :p

I'm working on lot on to it those last few days. realy loving it.
tried few configuration, with and without aquamist. very interesting :)

The AVCR uses the same function with the duty, very handy for getting boost to build as fast as the turbo can build it but can be a bit of a nightmare getting it right as well as it doesnt perform the same on a long pull as it does during a full throttle run up the gears. I dont have the boost control kit for the PFC but I have the setting programmed in for an overboost safety.

Are you just using water with the Aquamist or mixing methanol in there as well? I have a snow system but even with the smallest jet they have it still seems to be to much volume for the engine.

do you mean the avcr or the power fc boost level function? it has no effect on the power fc unless you enable the boost control kit, which in turn stops the car from running if you dont actually have it fitted?????

If you dont have the boost control kit fitted but select it on the settings 1 page then the overboost feature works in the ecu.

It does on my car anyway.

great, now that I have understood how it works. I've been able to have it running at one bar:)
thanks ;) it is funny I didn't encouter this while setting boost on the subaru few years ago

i'm wondering what the second field does exactly (the one which has 255 value in)

im sure when i tried it on mine ages ago it just made the car cut out. might have been me though

back from an other session and I'm a bit lost :(
I'm having uge boost spike issue, also something sounds wrong, the more boost I want the less duty cycle I need to use. very strange !

the second column where you can read 255 as default value doesn't seem to do fuck all when you change them (tried all sort of them)

I had a though again. as the duty cycle are inverted there must be something wrong in the installation somewhere.

I did some search on the web, and I found out some pics of the solenoid with "COM" connected to wastegate and "NO" connected to intercooler piping like this

PFC_BKC_Solenoid.jpg

while mine arrived with inline configuration.
Question to ED, Have you changed configuration for easy packaging purpose, or did you use it like I have received it ? (inline)

For an actuator set up N/O connects to the boost source and COM connects to the actuator.

For an external wastegate set up the N/C goes to the boost source and COM goes to the wastegate.

The duty function will increase boost the higher the value is.

:) fellow power fc owners, I dont think i removed the standard map sensor either, just plugged in the apexi one. what is your normal knock reading on the hand commander when you have gone for a blast around the town. And what is a safe knock reading.

I made a map which never exeed 45 on any high boost cell. and stay under 25 on vacum.
you realy need to tune with the chart and look for knock spikes. as on low boost or vacum, spikes will be smaller but would still be knocks.
also knock spike just when you close throttle suddenly after WOT is normal, so you don't want to consider this value

yep, Paul R33 page is a must read for sure, everything is there (picture I've posted is from his page)

Just got off the phone with my tuner. He said knock level peaked to around 30ish and i shouldnt be worried ?. He has taken as much timing out of the map as he can, reducing more timing is not reducing the knock reading. Im slight confused. Going to pick my car up today hopefully so will see what happens.

im happy with it being below 30 knock wise. until i pull my finger out and get some det cans im not going to add anymore timing.

azerty - that is how i had it installed and i ran it with an external wastegate if that helps at all

Thanks, i have changed to actuator setup, and now everything is fine :)

Can you check for det on the hand commander ? if so how, please explain further.

Yes and No,
yes there is a DET monitor in the commander. also your CEL will light up if you reach 60% (unless your tuner has changed this value)
but this will only tell you when you have DET on higher REV/BOOST
To see DET on low boost or vacum, you really need FC datalogit . 25% on vacum would already be knock
