Prove it Toby!

How long you going to keep your car and spec secret? I am starting to think it does not exsist :D

lol ^^^

Thing is about power to weight ratio theres so much more to consider.... Actual power will out do the power to weight ratio theory mid range..... Say two cars had the same power to weight ratio, but one of them weighed more and had a V8 with plenty more torque, the mid range pull will show by a long shot.....

Airial atom has 600BHP per tonne.... but it only has 300BHP..... up top it isnt great.... Will loose to other bigger powered cars with a less power ratio....

For instants, When my cars running 500-550WHP i will have a better power to weight ratio then a veyron..... Do you think my car will be anywhere near capable of 256MPH??? I would probably out pace it accelerating but then later on say above 150MPH even if my car was geared to 200MPH that would show me up......

Obviously aerodynamics play hugely at these speeds too..... But Actual Power pulls you through the wind hard especially later on.....

This little thing is probably irrelevant but hay! i got bored LOL :p

500-550whp in a FWD car? Seriously, what's the point? You're going to have to have a turbo like a dustbin on that, by the time it's spooled up, you'd have lit the tyres up and hit the limiter, regardless of speed, gear, tyres or what type of leaves are on the road.

Unless you're going down the AWD route, save your cash.

lmao out accelerating a veyron just thinking of it actually does sound crazy mate lol.

hahahhahhaha

but yeah its the big torque that helps pull once the air is getting to hard to push threw

monkfish no offense but i do have experience in what im actually doing :) So saying save your cash etc etc is a bit pointless. Im no newbie... I know what i want and im doing it... Im not going into this blind.....

Maybe when i hit my desired 10 second quarter mile then people will start refraining in stating this theory of "whats the point in a FWD car"

I want that power because i can see it being usable with the right set up... As you know im very aware on exactly how a very high powered front wheel drive car works etc....

As for the dustbin turbo, your forgetting im running a 2.0litre turbo with an engine with great torque.... With the turbo im going to be using i should be hitting around 1BAR @ 3500RPM......

Ive been doing my research mate ;) .... 3 inch arches, with pacers to space the wheel studs... Going to look into running 9-10 inch wide tires with an LSD!

I have no problem using 330BHP with my shitty set up i have.... Theres plenty of room for improvement..... I love the power/the drive... I love the torque steer etc.... Its not ALL about going as fast as possible... its a fuckin fun car and puts a complete smile on everyones face include giving me the best adrenaline buzz i can ask for without doing drugs ;)

thank you :)

i do totally agree to be honest dan, in theory ok it sounds like a mad idea, but who dares wins and i cant wait to see wat will happen!! ok it might be useless and go nowhere, but on the otherhand it could work perfectly! like he said he isnt sticking to the normal starlet setup.

i think itll be a real intresting project and i think its gonna be great. shouldnt listen to the haters :)

i just dont see why people are trying to argue against it?

i suppose out of the ordinary isnt normally "accepted" lol.

i just really like the idea and i cant see why it shouldnt work?

aslong as every aspect is sorted out it should be fucking unreal lol.

dan said he found it rather pleasurable last time!!

not sucking up at all i just personally am looking forward to it.

im an inthusiast as much as anyone and i cant wait to see the results, just makes me laugh people always saying itll never work bla bla. i think history repeats itself that generally the unexpected can happen

i hope so adam :)

After all its a long arse on-going project tahts going to take time to "perfect" ..... Its a big challenge.... 4WD cars ar ethe easy way out to a fast car... snooooooooor lol

Saying this i love gary's project as ive never seen a really high powered 4WD starlet about yet so thats a bit different......

anyway we shall see......

We better stop spamming this thread before we get our arses kicked by the mods :D

BACK ON TOPIC NOW :)

I was expecting a long arse post back, and i get this ^^^^
Made me laugh though! :p

Well, I could bang on about that much power being utterly useless in a light FWD car, and that it'll understeer everywhere, and it'll never do a 10sec quarter, but to be honest, I can't be arsed. You seem pretty determined to do it and no eRant from me is going to dissuade you. If you succeed, I will skuttle off and cry, but if you fail miserable, I will be the first to say "I told you so". :p

Kudos for having the balls and determination though. I suppose you've come this far, you may as well go tits out with it. :homer:

Not in the UK though aparrently.

And it will be interesting to see, but the Veyron business is bollocks lol at that speed it takes 8bhp per 1mph so thats why your car would never get there, power to weight is nothing at those speeds.

@monk.... thanks mate, i do appriciate that :)

@sam....... what the foooook are you on about??? thats exactly what i said... Power to weight ratio is nothing at very high speeds, its ACTUAL POWER that is what you need which i clearly stated in my previous posts...... :)

Although accelerating there to about 120-130MPH will be determined mainly by power to weight ratio..... But with 500WHP i dont think i will struggle top end as i can do 160MPH now(hitting the limiter) VERY easily..... doesnt struggle at all.

Saying that it still wont be anything like a veyron after say 170MPH...... I'd need more then 500WHP......

i seriously cannot see you being anywhere near a veyron, id like to see it, would be a great achievement, but your saying you are going to hit sub 3 sec 0-60??
