power to weight ratio

when i mean accelerating i mean rolling start from say 50-150mph.... And im not being literal!!

Running slicks providing i could grip with 500WHP, Yes it would be very close race.... the veyron hits 10's too....

If my car could get the power down it wouldnt be a problem to hit -3 secs -60mph.... But that wont happen due to lack of grip....

anyway guys im not looking to beat a veyron lol.... this is all for arguement sake....

With the Veyrons aerodynamics and 4wd drive grip it's always going to be a monster, they are stupidly quick they make Enzo's look like they are standing still literally. I would say for mid range more in the Enzo/Carrera GT league but aerodynamics will play a big part as well as traction, you really need to know what your doing otherwise you will spin through all the gears with the slightest moment of excitement.

Dan with 520bhp/tonne you would match an Enzo power to weight, there are so many variables it's pointless to discuss, Ken Livingstone could be driving a Veyron with Schumy in a Micra. I won't say you could beat this and not beat that but regardless the stats are impressive for what they are, 9/10 the majority driving these austentacious super cars are balding men so 9/10 you can scare them :p

Toby,

the enzo has 483bhp per tonne(flywheels HP)

Im aiming for 500WHP which say is around 550BHP(flywheel) ... My car cant weigh any more then say 900KG at the moment being all stripped out etc.....

thats 609BHP PER TONNE ;) I will fuck an enzo up its cracker :p

All providing i get the grip i intend on..... lol

Drive everywhere in reverse, that'll make it RWD! You may need to add 5 reverse gears tho, and turn the seat around.

What are you like :p Maybe in a straight line "with" traction but on a circuit those things can produce over 750kg of downforce a lot more than a Veyron. They used a lot of F1 technology, even so it's still a puppy it can raise for speed bumps, not like they used to be.

I know where you are coming from though have played with the best rest assured but circuit is a different world, tuning for freeway speed like the states is relatively easy, bringing it all together as a complete package is another story. Hell they would have 1000bhp/tonne Starlets in Le Mans otherwise :p

Still your car is a monster ;)

i think it f u have gone this far and going for 550 bhp ish

look in to 4wd from gt4, 5 stud hubs etc

similar to fensport corolla (black)

its alot of cutting/fixing/time/effort

but it wil be worth it in the end

i wanna see the outcome of your car
it really excites me

It would be nice to see what kind of time you could lay down at the nurburgring. Hand your car over to the Nadine with Schumy in his Ferrari and wha-la, lots of questions with lots of fun.

It would also be good if you could get your car around the bedford aerodrome or around a uk track and compare times with other uk cars.

Have you raced anyone on here on a track with your car as is?

I've always been intrigued by the theory. My friends got exactly the same power as my car but his car weighs a good 100kg less than mine. We're meeting up in a couple of weeks to see if there is an obvious difference in performance (there should be). Rolling starts in various gears etc.

Tobys comment with regards to handling of the Ferrari makes sense. Anyone rember top gears 330d track car. The difference in handling with and without the underbody tray / aerodynamics was astonishing.

LOL!!! toby you nuta.....!

Im WELL WELL aware my car wont compare to an enzo around a circuit! you must think im silly if you thought that i thought my car would beat it round the corners.... feeeeck noooo :p haha

Im building my car for drag for the time being... If that gets very boring in the future or i wont something different from the car either will go 4WD(which is a possibility) or i will down the power a bit, smaller turbo for the track etc.....

Im not a silly boy, dont expect miracles etc... Im pretty realistic i would say and i like trying things out... Hell if it doesnt work at least i can say ive tried ;) not the end of the world.... This is a passion for me... money is money, but fun is what i live for.....

Thanks mate :)

yeah i was looking into that a while ago... Would need a complete new rear axle for the rear diff and cut all the shafts down to size etc.... Would be alot of money too....

This may very well come in the future, who knows.....

there is a 500BHP MG hatchback FWD that goes up the pod... very good mates with my builder simon and ive seen him run a good few times in the mid 10's on Full slicks.....

In fact i f**ckin raced him in my motor! :p

there are a few VERY high powered front wheel drive cars about that hit 10's.....

Just divide the power of the car by its weight

weight/pwr= power to weight ratio

my car estimated

2300lbs/130whp= 17.69lbs per whp....which is horrible lol
