That was my solution when I was having this problem,a glanza s bonnet solves it properly though.

I had same problem after noticing a large puddle (about 8" deep) when a large wave come over my bonnet.

Got a blowtorch down cylinders (short sharp blows) and dried plugs out then when i put ht leads back on a smeared abit of vaselineon the rocker under where the square rubber seal sits and not had a problem since

I'm sure with a little DIY you can block off the scoop from the inside to prevent water from going in there. I've had water go in mine numerous times with the TMIC on. COmpressed air down the chamber and a dry spell usually fixes it.
