sorry for you bud, but as above, i wasnt actually moving even my handbrake was on, cant see the danger in that

yeah i know what u mean but the problem is if one rule doesnt apply for all, then people who are driving while on their phone will then abuse the same leniences to try save their own asses. really to be honest no call or text is urgent or important enough to take any risk over. and if it is that urgent then pull over to take it simples :):freddy:

Mobile phone is a Mobile phone regardless what your using it for its a criminal offence.

Your headunit isent going to start ringing and your not going to pull it our and hold it to your head and answer it.

Fact is your Mobile might, and who said u wont get the urge to answer it.

Yes i agree its bullshit for picking it up but i always put mine in the door handle on my drivers door were only i can see it.

Yea you cannot even touch a mobile phone or you could get points.

I remember hearing about a court case where a man defended himself by telling the Judge he was rubbing his ear with the phone and wasn't talking lol!
But he still lost his case.:p

You can be done for changing CD's and using your sat-nav while driving. There is no reason to be doing that while driving, you should be pulled over.

Big reason for not being allowed to touch the phone at all is because it's nice and simple. You start to bring in a load of subsections on when it is acceptable and when it isn't and you'll find that it'll become very complicated very soon and it will be hard to enforce.

All I will say to the OP is that isn't it interesting that all of the people who have been caught doing something illegal and prosecuted appropriately think that the police are wankers?

Kind of sitting on the fence with my opinion on this. Agree with both sides.

I do agree with the person that says rules are rules and it would be to complex to have lots of subsections and it would get to complex very easily.

But then I do agree it's a bit harsh getting done by "the man" for just picking it up and not answering it.

Like stated a bit of discression (sp?) wouldn't go a miss.

And I have been done a few times by "the man" for silly little things, got pulled over just because I have a "boy racer car" before. That was confirmed, "the man" was the daughter of someone I worked with. Of course they themselves never told me that when pulling me over, they said my exhaust looked like it was hitting hte ground, which it definately wasn't.

But I don't think all cops are bad, just some are and they are following stereo types. A boy racer looking car is more likely to have something illegal on it than a normal one, suppose it's like insurance, goes by statistics. As most folk around my area don't declare ANY of their mods. Thats ranging from usual little things like alloys and a back box to a different engine, obviously in a corsa thats insured and logged as a 1.2 but is a 2.0.

No doubt.
