There's a rather rare Mk1 in the Classifieds if you are up for a roadtrip. Cuffy is selling it. Real nice example, seen it a few times in person.

there is a lot more to a conversion than just the engine.
i've done one because my steering wheel is on the other side of the car over here in holland.
otherwise i would have bought a turbo from the start.

if you have to buy all the parts concider this list:

interior
exterior trim (hood, bumpers, lichts, grill, side panels, rear bumper/spoiler)
engine, gearbox, exhaust, ecu, shocks, strutbrace, brakes, wheel hubs

so that is most of the car. better off buying one that is an original turbo.
saves a lot of hassle and cash

Im on my second conversion....honestly dont know why i go through the pain lol. It costs the same to do as a Glanza these days, only reason for doing one is to do the sleeper route( and mine is 4x4) BUT smarter thinking would buy a Glanza and put n/a body parts on it :p Way easier and less hassle lol.

If you want to do a real tidy car then get any colour, do the conversion, fit what extras you want outside, do what work you want done on the panels then respray it!

Thanks for your input!

Basically, i will be buying a bog standard SR. Basically, i will be buying the parts second hand from people braking starlets. IE. Bumpers,Lights,Spoiler,Sideskirts.

My main aim to have most of these things bought, by Christmas and put on the car.

Then, In January i will begin collecting parts for the TDO4L conversion, turbo, loom, clocks, engine, gearbox, uprated clutch,hubs,breaks,hoses.. ect.. ect..

By no means am in a rush! I'd love for it to be completed by the end of summer, but i'd happily welcome a sooner completion date!

The main reason i want to do it is becuase im not really a mechanically minded person, which obviously puts me at a serious disability to do the work. But i want to trial and error, read/watch and learn from others on the internet and in books.
So basically, once completed ill have a boosted knowledge of my engine and car in particular!

I know many of you are against the whole conversion thing, and rather buy a Glanza.. I'd get more pleasure knowing i done it all myself, and knowing to me.. it's a complete one off!

Out of interest, rage: Whers the best place to buy all the listed parts? eBay is good for mechanical parts.. However, Bodywork is near impossible to find on there!

Nice to see someone that actually shows interest in getting their hands dirty and learning the proper way. I know I cant talk because I bought a Glanza, but at the time there were no tidy SR's worth converting.

Appreciate that, theres only one way to properly learn!

Plus, with the knowledge base the guys on here have.. it'll be a a whole lot easier if i get stuck!

There is a bit of wiring to do as well as the spanner stuff, but good on you for wanting to do it yourself.

Wiring is somthing I personally don't want to attempt... I was always useles in school! I have a professional electriction who will help re-wire! Is there wiring diagrams we could use?
