Reducing Td04l lag

I had a vf23 on mine, it came on boost at 4k on a 5e, so will say that it would be very similar to a td05, I have now put a td04 on it and it's quality no lag but still should get the power, you always best getting the smallest turbo for the power you want, as it will make it a better car to drive

td04 is better anyway lol...great compromise between power and response...mine for example hits full boost (1.2bar) at just about 4000rpm i think, and its just perfect like that...piss easy to drive it off boost and get great petrol economy, and piss easy to keep it in boost and have 250+ odd hp on tap.

is there any point having a stock turbo on a 5e lol

Have you been in a 5e with a ct9 turbo setup? I have and i tell you it runs out puff about 5.5k but when you select the next gear there so much torque it just keeps on going. Taking hills in 5th gear no sweat no need too drop down too 4th even 3rd with a 4e. 5e with a ct9 is like a supercharger instant boost all through the rev range in every gear.

i agree with this comment...as i have done it personally before....its very responsive around town and twisty country roads....but its a waste on the open roads......

imo...the minimum size turbo for a 5e would be a gt25/k24/tdo4 or something in that range...and even those can be on the small side sometimes (depending on what u want from the car).....if u want response...a 5e tdo4l/gt25/k24 will be ideal.....if u want some more top end then a 5e gt28/k26/tdo4 hybrid/tdo5 sized turbo wil probably work out better

I found a lightweight flywheel helped a bit too. My hybrid reached full boost (1 bar around 3600-3700 rpms, a well setup standard td04 on standard head is capable of doing this (or getting very close) with an ebc Im sure.

i was looking into a light flywheel... but it will rev faster thats why you think its boosting more early? or you noticed different boost in different revs? please reply :) thanks
