while on the subject i think it wud be a better idea if u can onlyu give out 1 rep point instead of for some ppl 8 and others 5 (depending on your rep count) has i see ppl with has much rep has fro example me and giving extremly bad advice and they have only got this cause they where involved in threads where ppl with big rep points are involved and give them rep for bein there so to speak

hope that kinda makes sense lol

hmmmm not being funny or anything its just sometimes i log in and few minutes later after refreshng the page someones rep points shoot up :haha:, mainly on the chill out room like mentioned above

surely someone with high rep points although they may have not contributed to helping or advising if say they had a dispute with someone surely everyone would take that individuals side? :confused:

many would think "oh look he's got such and such rep points over this guy so we'l believe him"

there are some people with superb knowledge who only come online rarely am sure even they will be suprised :haha

'm not saying we shouldnt leave reps for any kind of posts but we should look into it as when the time comes like mentioned above

i myself only log in few times because of my work shift timetable,

hmmmmmm......... as for the sales feeback how about using percentage out of hundred? stars too maybe? just like ebay but tgtt style? well i guess like dylans mentioned theres already a rep system for the classifieds :)

i rep people who help me to say a an e-thankyou. When it comes to technical advice, i just dont listen to anyone, i know which members are knowledgeable as many a times they have come to my aid with the correct advice.

Surely it should be "Tech Points" if its only to do with technical info? Or "Sales Points" if its just for sales. TBH 80% of my rep points are from rubbish! lol

SXOC for example has no rep points whatsoever and works well like that. I think rep points creates a bit of a childish atmosphere sometimes on this site in my honest opinion, as some constantly dish out useless info in search of more and more rep for themselves. Bit of a popularity contest. The quality of answers in the technical area would maybe improve a lot with more experienced owners answers not being mixed with lots of nonsense.
