I prefere the rx7 but as every1 has said the engine do need rebuilding at bout 60-70K so you would have to have it as a second car.I think they are 276 bhp standard.The bloke that does all the repaires on my car is an rx7 garage and he said they are quite hard to tune safely you have to no what you are doin he races his drag rx7 at santa pod black 1 with bright green wheels n e of you seen it
It really annoys me when people say, if you buy one of these cars you will end up in a hedge.
It depends on who is driving, if you know how to drive an mr2 or rex (which u bloody well should if your going to buy one). I mean we could sit here and say a starlet is easy to crash into a bush..
The gts mr2 (mid to heavily tuned) is notorious for being a handful even for experienced drivers as the 40/60 weight distibution mixed with rear wheel drive sees the back end twitch without much encouragment. You should see how many wrecked ones of them are sitting at my local scrap yard (eddie torrens of ballymoney). And my friend had a yellow one and said you really have to be on your toes when you want to have a bit of fun in one.

modability i would say the 3s is "easier" to tune up NOT more tunable.... alot available and doesnt require alot of modifications.... At the end of the day they can both be tuned to a degree of beyond silly so thats all you need to know.....

it's not a dilemma for me and it isn't for u. i just think they are both good cars one having what the other one lacks.i'm not buying any of these cars or at least not athe moment but just thought of how close they are as a car on the whole.just needed some other opinions that's all.

I can appreciate that but start going on interiors, that is pure to ones very particular taste... there both very similar styles inside the cars anyway mate.. being quite tight, sporty low ride feel to the cars... Very plain looking old school jap looking... Nothing to shout about

mr2 tubby the best car toyota made. beats the rx7 hands down any day. mr2 was based on the shape of a ferrari how can you say the looks is dated lol. as for power not many cars will sit with a tuned mr2- power to weight ratio.
