sealant on oil pump??

alright guys just a quick question. having my oil pump replaced at the moment because oil was leaking from it. now the garage installed the new one and when they restarted the engine it ran fine for a couple of minutes then started leaking again.. they said they used sealant on the pump. just wondering if this is normal or should it seal without the use of sealant??

the pump is sealed with both sealant and a rubber 'o' rong type seal seal

cheers dude. just curious as this is the second time its been sealed with sealant. ah well third time lucky

make sure it is the pump leaking and not the sump, the sumps can be bastards to re-seal around the oil pump

I had a few issues with sealant not sealing properly turns out that its better if you let it cure for 24hours before letting oil touch it, worked a treat.
