Slight Boost Problem.

Folks,

On my previous setup (WEPR Hybrid) i ran a constant 1.2bar of boost, with no sign of creep
Now on the TD04, i have signs of it creeping up at higher revs.

I run a 38mm external wastegate, which came from the 1st setup.
0.9 bar spring with Turbosmart Boost T.

My only theory being is, the old mani had the externall take off, off the side of the collecter, pointing up, therefor slowing the gasses down.

On the new manifold, the external take off, points down at the front of the collector, therefor keeping the gasses flowing better.

Question being, would this cause the slight rise in boost? (at the top end)

Im thinking of getting a lower rated spring preasure and using the boost T to bring the preasure up.
My only problem then being is, that is only masking the problem and not cureing it.

Anyone had the same problems before?

All help is much appreciated, im needing this sored asap for mapping.

Rory :)

With an ext wastegate you shouldnt get any creep at all.

I'm running a td04 with ext wastegate with no probs at all.

I dunno wot it would be, if u had an electronic boost controller i'd say it was setup wrong, but cant go far wrong with a manual one.

I'm sure someone on here can help ya.

SX - That could be a factor, as i never run the WEPR Hybrid in the snow (freezing cold)....... And yes its snowing just now. :D

This has been sorted. :D

Gave the wastegate a slight port on the screamer pipe side (2mm) and it holds perfect.
It was only 30mm to begin with!
