You find them slow, come over here and i'l take you for a spin in the ek9 i have for sale and then you tell me if its slow or not... From launch all the way to cut out it just pulls in every gear...

Standard they are shit been in one of them too they weren't anything special they are rare over here though there are only a handful in nz maybe with a few thousand dollars worth of mods they are quick but to do mid 15's down the strip is dissapointing that altezza we have over here would kill that ek9 and here is that altezza http://www.fast4s.co.nz/detail.php?refno=11089

Round here people respect gt's theres not many but the Honda Boys know what gt's are capable of. trouble is a lot of the hondas in leicester are far from standard but im yet to find out how far. In my opinion standard a gt would slightly have a vti from standstill but the vti would have the gt after about 80. My mates dc2 is considerably quicker than my gt and thats standard and the vtec sounds immense. It actually made me consider a Honda, that along with Sham showing me ef9's all the time. The civic vs evo debate is pointless theres always gonna be a quicker car, although a 2.2 turbo ek will destroy a stock evo quite comfortably, trust me.

Anyway, I like gt's and civics to the point where i'd stuggle to choose if given a choice of the two, people that say they are slow or shit are dreamers

Well ome of the comments above are just rediculous. From Deano who seems to be the king of generalisation "vtecs are slow" to comments like "Stock vs stock from 1st to 5th a Vtec would most probably wave bye bye to the Starlet"

Okay - To anyone that says a vtec is slow or a vtec is faster than a GT - What the hell are you talking about?? Do you know what vtec is??

It is not a CIVIC - it is not a type of car... its like saying a vvti is faster than a civic... a vvti could be a TT supra or a corolla or a celica... they are all different cars.

This honda Vs toyota stuff is rediculous. Hondas are fantastic cars and people who say otherwise are talking through their ass.

Toyota and Honda make extremely reliable cars.

I sometimes get the feeling people are trying to get our site a reputation as Honda haters, we ARE NOT.

If you dont like Hondas dont buy one. If you love hondas go and buy one. If you wish to discuss the performance of either do so in a mature manner, dont come on with comments like "hondas are crap" or "the NA honda accord would have most turbo cars on the road" because that is rubbish and will get a reaction.

This thread is obviously going nowhere.
