if you were able to take your starlet back to the assembly line and change anything on it, what would it be..? from the minor cosmetic stuff to the much more intricate engine mods..? :)

for starters, i'd have the rear wiper park at the bottom of the screen and not where it sits currently.. :)
plus, i'd have awd and 40:60 (f:r) power split fed via LSDs front and rear and IRS as standard items.. :p

A true twin cam design, in my opinion one of the only true flaws it has is that the valve timing can't be independantly adjusted between intake and exhaust.

forged bottom ends as standard or at least stonger engine components, or even a 2ltr ehgine, independant suspension, lsd,

Independent double wishbone suspension, 5EGTE engine and a Torsen diff in a half shafted rear axle set up in the EP85.

But I must say, they can be pretty impressive the way they were built, I am sure no one at Toyota expected them to be tuned the way they were/are. They were designed as a nippy city car rather than a racer, the AE86 was sent more in that direction.

I would love to hear the original development team's thoughts after they saw the cars as they are now. Imagine the reaction they would get after realising how much they could have gotten away with powerwise lol.

Me? I wouldn't change a thing.

The thing is, putting in stuff like a 2ltr engine and a forged bottom end would have made them twice the price they were originally and probably would have flopped.

Independent rear suspension would have been nice though!

I think a lightweight model with windy windows no air con shorter gears better dif and uprated arbs etc like the imprezza type ra and Evo rs would be pretty decent :-D be a fair weapon on the road

true to Keenoep82's word, some of our wish-list requests would have made them cost about 6 times more than they do now.. and perhaps if they did, we would not have had TGTT.. :)
something else i'd have liked from the assembly line: quad projector headlights on the glanza.. :D

This is true, but then they could be treading on the toes of their other top end cars such as the AE86 and the supra's, which cost double the price.
