really don't see the point in removable steering wheels from a security point! as stated all you need is mole grips!!

much better off with something like a Disklok, would be so much more effective!......hence thatcham aproval

I've got a Cat1 Clifford Pager alarm. I had it fitted the first week I had the car, mainly as at least a Cat2 was insurance requisit, but also for peace of mind.

Even with the turbo timer running, if someone smashes with window, they have about 90 seconds to get as far as possible with the alarm blaring and the steering lock on, after which the engine stops and it won't start again. About 10 seconds after that happens, I'll be at the car ready to leather 7 shades of shit out of the pikey. :D

Mines like a disc lock but it folds into 3 piece. Can't remember the make, but IMO it's much better.

Folds up and fits in a neat bag.

About 6 inch by 6 by 16.

Much easier to store.

they do work with a turbo timer, but if the alarm has an immobilliser (like the clifford systems) then you can't lock the car/activate the alarm/immobilliser until the engine has stopped running.

If someone was to nick my car with the turbo timer running, as soon as the timer counts down to zero the immobilliser automatically activates after about 5 seconds. if you were to try and start the car again, either with a key or by hotwiring, the alarm just starts blarring and you cant even turn the radio on.

If we say that 2/3s of gt's and glanzas get nicked for joy riding they're gonna need a steering wheel to drive it so deffo worth doing domething there. If it is being stolen for parts or having the identity changed and re sold they normaly drag the thing onto a low loader.
The thing that worries me is people just breaking in to get parts. To help with this.......

Window tints
Face of cd player
Hidden sound system
I use mechanics seat covers to keep my seats hidden

Just anything to make it less attractive to a theif. You got to make them think why steal this when i can steal that golf down the road in half the time.
