My faithfull EP of seven years is on the drive off the road for the winter :) I can never bear to part with it but at the moment its just awaiting new parts and a few tweaks before I'll get it back on the road for spring / early summer. Thats if I can afford the insurance on it and the GT4 :)

I have been on here since I was 17 (I'm 24 now) and it was certainly a much busier place until a year ago or so. It is true however there used to be plenty of silly people asking silly questions and topics getting covered over and over that gets you bored a little.
I recently sold my Starlet of 6 years, but only to build a new drag machine along side our full drag EP thats coming along nicely now :) No matter how hard I try it's just in me I think. And the people that remained are some of the best folk around so conclusion I don't mind it being like this at all!

I will be interested to see the turn out for the Sumo Meet in a few weeks, I would have said the same thing about the Skyline Owners Club but we had a meet at the weekend and it was packed! Full of bloody nice people and cars... Also got over 30 cars down for the South East Scoobies meet too!

I am hoping the TGTT meet is a good one, will gauge the interest and hopefully it will be positive, If so I will invest more time into the Forum and parts for these cars, although I am abit sceptical after getting custom made Starlet Fuel rails made up and having nobody buy them.... Puts me off big time! :haha:

I think most new owners are buying them for cheap running costs and have no real reason to put up threads or ask questions.

That and its hard finding a good starlet nowadays, I tried getting one for the last two weeks and ended up I had to get something else because 3 deals fell through :(

i havent been here as long as some of you guys above, im 23 im here to stay till at least 27 im aiming to forge and td04 my glanza, i need to get myself to the meets havent really met anyone from on here. theres about 6-7 of us loca but a couple of them have sold up nowl.

Problem for me is with credit crunch and loans and general living being a nightmare and my parents not affording to be able to fill the fridge every week i have to spend my money on boring crap 1st and am not left with say half as much as when i first got my car. Also got a massive overdraft to sort out lol anyway.
Im peter pan dont plan to move out enjoy spending my money on the car too much.

What i will say is people attitude on here even some of the regulars and long term users are not half as helpful towards people as they used to be, a guy put u p a thread about fuel cut and boost levels and fpr, lot of people replied "your gonna blow your car up hhaha" this is not helpful or welcoming to newbies i mean no one explained to the chap he neeeded to visit a tuners and have fpr and fuel cut defender fitted to solve his issue. To me personally i found this quite bad for our owners club .

Anyway just my 2p

i replied in a similar thread, just told him what to set his fpr too and the boost pressure to run and to drive to a tuners. he didnt take much notice and just seemed interested in the fuel pressure he should run when he wanted to increase the boost. some people just cant be told.

when you see endless threads about the same shit it does get very samey. i use the search function now and again and its fine. especially for threads that seem to be covered every week with exactly the same info.

Its always quiet over the winter.

Been thinking of breaking mine lately and buying a Supra or something instead.

It does seem to be a lot quieter than when I first joined. But as said the amount of threads about the same thing does get annoying. I use the search feature when I need to, although it's not brilliant but I can generally find the answer I'm looking for after trolling years worth of threads :haha:
I think it would help if we had more action going on in the meets section, I would love to go and meet some new people and new cars but I've only ever met 2 people from here. I know it's not the best season to be going to meets, but in the summer all there will be are the big ones like japfest etc. Be nice to have more local mini meets.
I don't mind it the way it is, although a nice big starlet build or something different to look at other than everyone going td04 (no offence anyone) would be nice.

I agree that newbies dont use the search button too often,in fact its easier for them to pop up thread than to search for something.

And for the old timers its boring to reply to the same stuff again and again.

I guess this happens when the learning curve starts to reach a plateau phase in a given field.

I agree that is not very helpful, but I think that subject has been covered so many times that even a newbie should not have to ask about it. If someone cant be arsed to spend a little time searching for the answers and being able to work it out for themselves, how can you expect them to put it right themselves?
I think that lads car has just shit its pants anyway, not that that is a good thing, but it proves a point in the owners capability of understanding the work needed.

Starlets are getting old now, Ford Escorts were like this 15 years ago, now they have all but died out. Its an age of the car thing.

i always tend to leave the car once the winter starts and then get a second wind around this time of year.

just started cracking on with my TD04 conversion recently as it all slowed down over christmas as its a pain buying anything at christmas online :(

should all be done by the better weather so i can go get it mapped!

The end is nigh :D

lol, is it fuck ;)

i find that if you mod a car slowly and not rush in to it looking for power power power the love for these things lasts alot longer :)
a majority of people have seemed to spunk all there money sharpish, got bored within a year or so and then end up breaking the car to recoup as much as they can, then in turn it knocks another living starlet off the list :( hence maybe the reason why things are could be getting quieter
