I dont like rear strut braces they stiffen the rear up too much imo and do not suit my driving style.

The back end feels much more jumpy with my rear brace fitted, thats why ive got rid.

Most probably due to the fact that with a hatchback's main drawback of not having a lot of tensile strength in the rear section of the car, i.e. the hatchback (due to not having a bulkhead), putting the rear strut brace reduces the natural chassis flex which probably dampens the suspensions motions...hence why your car feels stiffer and bouncier at the rear...

I wish I could say the same, but for me the rear brace makes no difference...but that's cause my car's a coupe'. On track though, you should feel the car "rotates" the rear end more readily if you trail brake/left foot brake

@ turbo dave- mine was like that when i fitted the rear brace, but since ive fitted the rear arb it, it seemed to have settled itself, and now it sticks to the road like glu its really hard to get the back out now.

I'll agree with Ricky. I have a rear brace and a c-pillar brace and now a rear ARB and she handles awesome. All i need now is some coileys!

lol cool, yeah they are a bit harsh, probably wisest, as a daily runner, i've heard stories of coilovers recking chassis on cars of late.

Yeah I could invest in an ARB, but tbh without the rear brace on and around a damp llandow track the back end never moved. The tein setup seems to realy suit my car and my driving. :)

I think this time it will be a case of if its not broken dont fix it!

Rear strut brace works well for me. Car is pretty solid on D2's thou, so might have something to do about it.
