Thanks a lot for the input guys, rep on the way :)

Gtti- Thanks mate, as much as I wanted to find out the health of my car, I thought this would be useful to others going down the Fpr + Fcd route for reference and a warning to always get the car on the rollers to be sure whats going on with the fuel map (plus check for any other possible issues).

What you mentioned about the fpr also tallys with what Paul at Weston said when we talked this morning. From what he was saying, I guess that if you up the fuel pressure, the injectors dont need as much duty to attain the target amount of fuel so maxing them out is far less likely. If thats true, that would explain why at 3 bar I have no noticeable lean spot as boost comes in and peaks, where as at lower pressures I do. :)

the adjustable fpr is not necessary...but could come in handly in certain tuning situations...as gtti has outlined

if u have it...leave it there.....u have the option of using stock pressure (2.3/2.4bar) or u can run 3.0 bar and tune down if u want using a piggyback of some sort (or standalone)

what i've also realised is that some injectors seem to run at 43.5psi (3 bar) as stock.....maybe this helps with atomising the fuel or spray pattern.........while some injectors run at lower fuel pressure (like the oem 295cc ones --2.3 bar)...........so this may be something to consider

PS- i've also realised that WITHIN REASONABLE LIMITS, its safer to tune down fuel than have to tune up---reason, if your fuel computer craps itself.....your car will run rich...and the additional fuel pressure will come in handy here.....as well as bigger injectors if used
