Very nice Ian!! finally went for it :D be good to see the motor again soon :)

you'll see if very soon ;) just gotta source some new injectors and i'm there :)

We know you love that really :p

just been out in it again, it is quite cool :haha: if i want it quite i'll drive off boost ;)

Ultimate sleeper

.......

FOOKIN LOVE IT

Bay is looking sweet!!
Realy like this car, one of my favourites on the site, hope you get the power you want!

cheers chaps :)

Looking good mate, your engine bay is so so clean!

PS. How badly is the hybrid damaged??

the turbo itself is fine, very little play etc and still boosts strong, it's blown a seal of some sort cos around the vband and on the core is covered in carbon. it'll be good to go again soon enough, will have to run externally gated to stop the same happening again.

Looking good Ian, you'll love it at 1.2bar and above... it becomes a whole different animal though!

All good fun tho :D

just been out for a longer drive, was nursing it too much first time, drive it like you stole it and even 10psi is pretty nippy, once on song i'd say as quick as the ct9 was @ 1.2bar (202bhp) but without the response.

very nice, will be interested in your feedback, as i was going to go for a hybrid ct9 on 1.4 bar. as i dont like the common td04. lol.

what ya going with the old set up? as i am er, looking for a hybrid at the mo. lol

i've found out that 1.4 on a CT based hybrid turbo of any type won't last ;)

so far, the main difference between my hybrid and the td04 is the hybrid kicks in harder and sooner. but bear in mind i'm only running 10psi on stock management and injectors with an rrfpr to up the pressure slightly for safety at the min, once setup the TD is gonna pwn the hybrid at high boost.

certainly wouldn't rule the hybrid out though, i loved the way the car drove with it and i've heard the GT spec tong turbos are animals too.

old setup isn't fit for sale at the min, and i doubt i'd sell it anyway as the turbo is one-off

On stock internals?? :homer:

Elaine ran 1.4bar on her forged engine (which is now mine) on a hybrid CT9 and it was fast, but unless you were flat out when cruising the turbo didnt like it lol, was surging i think!

i'm running 1.4bar on td04l with a quaife ATB and its still a joke for traction really(as Ian found out at llandow, i had to let him pass!), but i need to buy an anti lift kit and new coilovers (mine are screwed) and get a decent geo setup and it should be a lot better. Got a new 1bar wastegate spring to put in the external so my boost control should be able to run a lot more gain, its struggling atm due to the weak ass 0.4bar spring in the wastegate hehe.

Very tempted by the zisco mani tho, for the money its a great piece of kit but i'm still tempted by danes new manifold/downpipe combo! :(

na the plan was pretty much the same as dub, forged engine, headwork etc.

although i was going to run it on a external wastegate. also was going to try cams and as aggressive a map as possible. lol

what turbo was elaine running?

haha, overtook by an NA ;) my suspension is a spring/damper setup which is quite soft compared to the coilovers, and with llandow being quite bumpy i could get the power down extremely well :)

also need to change the spring, only ran 6 psi until i hooked up the ebc-r. it's never ran 6psi in it's life, haha.

can't fault the mani, plenty of clearance with the stock rad and sits the turbo nicely to make pipework fairly straightforward.

we ported it out and adjusted a few bolt holes but overall very happy. only gripe was the oil and water banjo's were home made rather than proper items and as such not great. so we binned 'em ;)

not sure, she bought it from EP_Chen, looked a lot like a tong turbo, had a very large compressor wheel on it!

Only made 200bhp at triton, they wouldnt listen though as it was wheelspinning in third and should have ran it in 4th! Mine was wheelspinning in third the otherday there, he tried telling me my brand new cerametallic paddle was slipping lol, i forced him to run it in 4th and got 252.7bhp @1.25 bar as my manifold had cracked quite badly!

You going to build your own engine then? bloody parts are getting dearer and dearer atm, headgaskets are silly money! :(

Aye its all good work that you do to your car mate, attention to details is foremost with you and the "pitcrew" ;) haha

Oh yeah i had to get new discs for my brake kit btw! mine where actually warped.

guy sounds like a muppet, even on a CT9 i have had to done my runs in 4th due to it lighting up.

What would the difference be in say, doing a power run in 4th as opposed to 3rd? Would it be a "less accurate" figure so to speak?

PS. What hybrid did you have on Dub?? A Kitaro one?

Yes as 4th is closer to 1:1 than any other gear :)

as for the turbo hehe :p

it is a one off T3/25/CT20/CT9 that has bigger compressor and turbine wheels than a TD04 :)
