TD04 locating pins - Please help!

Im in the process of rotating my TD04L but have hit a bit of a dead end :(!

I have split the turbo completely and was lucky to find the locating pin on the exhaust side was already removed.

Unfortunately the one on the compressor housing is still there! How the hell do you remove this? Its near impossible to file it due to the restricted space? Any ideas???

if its the small pin that am tinkin off jus pull it out! as in get visegrips and take it out.

It pulls out???? Are you sure, I thought it had to be filed?

I'll certainly give it a go anyway ;)!

yea if its the same wee pin that am talkin about!jus pulls out;) elbow grease

have u any pics of it ill know no for deff

u may need to remove the circlip to get the compressor housing off and remove the pin---to remove the circlip u need a GOOD snap ring pliers (circlip pliers)........and becareful, best to wear eye protection

the pin does not always come out from just pulling it with a pliers

Ive tried with the pliers and it almost impossible to get a grip on it :(




... goes and hides because he is weak

You have the turbo stripped down to this yes?



If so just hit the pin with something of force. It'll soon dislodge.

Yep thats how it is Jay.

I'll give that a go but if no good Ive got a mate who can lend me a die grinder piece :)
