What did you tell them exactly?

Every mod on the car or just the power you are expected to be running?

Told them about TD04, Stainless mani, Decat Downpipe, FMIC and Emanage Blue, oh and 15in non standard wheels too.

Do insurance companies actually hire people who know what a Decat downpipe or a TD04 is? I dont think so. In my opinion they are trained to answer the phone, type a few things into a computer, press enter and a quote pops up. This is partly why the customer gets ripped off because we all need insurance so its a case of bend over and take it.

@ starbogt: No not looked at sky yet mate, I was just phoning round before I order it to make sure I can insure the car once it here I will be getting more quotes nearer the time,

@ Gee: Yes mate Told them I would be running 2-210 BHP, and Yea thats pretty much all my mods, oh and my D2's, but obviously I will need a few more supporting mods when I put it on.

@ TRD: actually the guy at adrian flux seemed to know what I was talking about (although the woman at bell said "To be honest I dont understand what half those things do" so I was not going to go with them lol)

210BHP TD04 EP82,

Anyawy 4 phonecalls in and all I got were laughs :(

Till I asked Goldenvtr who he was insured with, well they laughed too but put me through to Adrian Flux, 20min on phone later:

Do you think insurance companies should charge people extra the slimmer they are? :p

I mean for example theres more benefit loosing a few kg's off your belly than installing an air filter.

@ 21 with 1 years NCB my quote was £650 fully comp. My renewal is soon.

Standard car other than wheels and a backbox.

Its not just down to your postcode i belive..depends on your job, etc

Im wondering out of interest what are the highest risk jobs for insurance?...i know musician is fairly high...was wondering what car/bike mechanic would be...
fairly low as you can fix your own car...or fairly high??

who you with?

i was 22 with 1 yr no claims, and every one i spoke to wanted about £1200, and adrian flux, well they were a bunch of waster's they wanted £3.5k what a joke.

i ended up with highway insurance they wanted £998 which was best qoute i had, problem is when you make a claim there the most useless firm in the world, 8 weeks and it still not sorted. i dont care how cheap they are, i will NOT be using them again.
