Probably been covered but..i know u can run a low boost td04 on standard internals but what about the standard mani will that take the td04?

If so what boost could i run?

Get a tdo4 mani standard one very resitcritive.. Am doin a tdo4 conversion on standard internals and am going to run it at a bar

I was runin a on a full TDO4 kit set up on standard internals at 1bar map on emb which is safe and fun.

a standard engine can easily take a td04, ive been running mine at about 0.6/7 on the stock ecu for months now, was advised by my tuner this is fine as long as its under fuel cut the ecu will compensate and should fuel it ok,

as you know this has been covered to death and more than enough info on this forum to help you do a TD04 conversion, check this thread out mate, pretty much all you need to know:

id throw a uprated fuel pump in there for good messure!

I did upgrade my pump and injectors to 330 at the time which now am on 460 cause runin 1.4 bar now,but still Orignal fuel pump and injectors will be fine at 1bar.

There is an adaptor plate available to run on the stock mani and even converts it to external waste gate. Obviously you would need to port the manifold to get rid of the restriction. Your answer to what boost can be run has been aswered but it all depends of your management/tuner.

I have a racetech td04 kit, EMU, AVCR, 330's etc all to go on mine, will be mapped at 1.2 bar or I may go for 1.4bar depends how good a stock engine I can find.

Not sure who is doing my tuning yet.

Its a standard 5e (4e pistons etc) hks fcon v pro standalone ecu. Externally gated WEPR TD04 kit.

Will run 1.4bar on it. What about you?

Sounds like a decent setup!!

Stock 4e, SPS/RaceTech TD04 kit, 330's, EMU, AVCR. Gonna get Ricky @ racetech to map it.

Went to the rolling road day at Monster Motorsport and was well impressed with a car with a racetech td04 kit @1.2bar make 236hp on a EMB! That was tuned by Ricky so I will be coming home with at least 1.2bar boost lol.

I was running my glanza on standard internals with a wepr td04 kit. I had it mapped with an emb at 0.8bar of boost and i made 173.9 whp!

if running a bar or more i would say your definately need an uprated fuel pump, probably hasnt been changed in like 14 years since youve had the car, and they can be purchased cheap! depeding how much boost you want to run or safely take it, depends on your tuners capability and the map!

some run 1 bar, others 1.4 on a stock block as said, at the end of the day it all comes down to how much you trust your tuner :)

If the mani is ported, local car is running an adaptor plate, ported mani, custom downpipe, TMIC, TD04 and is running 1.2bar of boost and has been doing so for over a year

1bar is pretty safe on standard internals. All down to the mapping though.
Its possible to run 1bar or maybe even higher but personally i wouldnt do it without at least a decent ECU which has been mapped for the spec of my car.

Im sure there was a thread on here somewhere (or maybe on the old site) where someone tested how much boost could be run on the standard engine. Think everything was fine untill it got to 1.4 bar. Then the rod bent.

What boost you run depends on how much you would like to risk engine failure really.
The higher the boost. The higher the risk.
This is why people forge their engines and lower their compression ratios by buying thicker head gaskets etc...
