Not usually this cold but today was 11degC and while cruising at 110kph I noticed the temp gauge went fully down. Is this the usually thing with FMIC and colder weather?

That's usually the sign of a sticky thermostat mate, once you stop moving the needle would rise again yeah?

I've never seen a FMIC have any bearing on coolant temps.

Yea rises again when slowing or stopped for traffic. So its time for a new thermostat assuming I have one, thanks for that.
Makes sense what you say about the FMIC it would be the radiator getting cool air that is the main factor.
