Well, imagine my surprise (and it was a surprise) when on the
return road following my 5th pass of the day, when I checked
out my time slip to discover, TERCEL1 had run a 13.928...
WHOO-HOO!!!
It was a nice day for racing... not a hint of wind, nice sunshine
to keep things feeling warmer than the actual 40 degree
temperature... a nice day indeed and my 5th pass made it
even nicer... So nice in fact that I called Denys (boostjunkie)
to tell him the good news and before I knew it, there he was
in the water box, doing a tire cleaning burn out!
Although I didn't get any videos of TERCEL1 in action today...
on my way to the track, I managed to get a photo of a little
old lady driving down the road in a very clean EL31 coupe... I
pulled up along side of her and once she realized what I was
driving, gave me the "thumbs-up"!!!
Once I got to the track I proceeded to make about 4 runs with
TERCEL1's front end in its daily driver configuration and then it
was time to get serious... what follows is the report card from
today's outing!
Denys suggested, seeing that next Sunday would be the last
MIR test'n'tune, we have a little Tercel get-together... (which
usually means him and me) I told them that, while his plan
sounded inviting, I hadn't raced at Cecil County Dragway
since my #4 piston was replaced so, I might trek up there
next Saturday and if I did, next Sunday's MIR gathering might
have to proceed without me in attendance... I dunno!?
Before I conclude this report, play close attention to the car
lined up next to Denys' Tercel in this piece of hair raising
video!
Guess I'll sign off for now and give some thought about next weekend...
