TERCEL1: REAR MAIN SEAL for 4EFTE

Am doing some work on TERCEL1 (including replacing the clutch) and
would like to replace the rear main seal while in the process...

Would like to use a genuine Toyota part for this replacement but realizing that
Toyota probably does not make the seal, does anyone know what company
makes the seal, sold by Toyota as the "genuine Toyota part"?

Any dealer on her sell them?

alf...i cant tell u which company makes the seal

but i can tell u this......get one from toyota or the exact same seal (if that's possible) from another provider......or something of similar quality as least

reason being...the non-genuine seals tend to leak very fast and spin in the housing

the toyota ones i've seen are a brownish color

Alf this is matt87 from TO.com. Search on TO and you'll get a part #. Then you can go to your local toyota dealer and order it. I know it works because they did it with for mine.

Ha-Ha-Ha!!!

Now I understand when TO.COM members complain about the crappy search
function... typed in, "rear main seal part number" in quotes, without quotes
and I was presented with a million permutations of any and all the words
but, no USEFUL information.... if you happen to stumble upon it or have the
invoice from your order, I'd be most appreciative!

PS: To demonstrate how crappy the search function is... if you type in, just
the word, "main", you will be presented with any post which has the word
MAIN as part of its word (MAINtaine, the state, MAINe)

I dont kno about them in the usa, but i get my toyota parts direct from japan..i sent a list to the toyota dealer in california and they never got back to me ...kept saying it was special order from japan...

the one u ordered from me then cancelled was a genuine toyota part.
