this is great,im guna change policies in feb ,when my 2nd years ncb is on,admiral are a crap insurer, they dont care about there customers,...i pay far 2much at the moment!

admiral are a shocking company. they may as well have monkeys on the end of the phone to cut costs a bit more

i phoned them yesterday to get a quote for my renewal which is in january, spoke to some dippy bitch who said they were currently processing my renewal quote which would be between £700 and £800, so then i told them about my changes in circumstances, such as the car not being used for commuting anymore, lower annual mileage and the mods such as WEPR exhaust, decat, wheels/tyres, suspension, window tints, etc etc which was all fine.........until i mentioned the FMIC

she put me on hold, came back a few minutes later to tell me they would be unable to cover my car after january, because having an intercooler means the car must have been fitted with a turbo charger

the twat didnt even understand that the car was turbo'd from the factory (not that the name "GT Turbo" gives it away!) and no matter how i tried to explain, she couldn't understand that all i have done is replaced the standard intercooler with a bigger one!

looks like i'll be phoning sky on monday then

Do you have any guidelines or rules you have for modifications?

For example:

Ecu - 4% increase
Wheels - 5% increase

Etc etc?

I know prices are dependant to a whole host of factors. Also, what about mods that are not visable and do not add power?

Generally speaking we only only load for performance enhancing modifications. We have to refer certain mods to our underwriters. I am not able to discuss exact percentage increases on a public forum unfortunately. I will say that our prices for modifications are a hell of a lot more competitive than a standard insurer. Also, another positive is that generally speaking we know most mods... so you wont have to spend 2 hours explain what a FMIC is and does...

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Sky only managed to quote me £991, even with 6yrs NCB, and being over 25, which I thought was very steep.
