The best turbo for the EP91

600hp in a Starlet? Pointless IMO. You are just not going to get the power down, unless you go 4WD, which I don't think can be done with the 3S-GTE because of lack of space. It would be possible to build such a car, but the only resemblance the car would have to a Starlet would be the bodyshell. Z Cars did it with a Mini. Fibreglass bodyshell (Which is where the resemblance stops), aluminium spaceframe chassis, and a 350bhp supercharged K20 (EP3 Civic Type-R) lump. It costs about 30k to make.

Back on topic though, I can get hold of a brand new turbo from a mate for about £50. I'm thinking of getting it, should be good to flow 230-240bhp and is better than a TD04 IMO ;). I'm debating whether to get it or not. What is it....?

I'm not telling :p

have to say monksy boy you can do a 4wd conversion with the 3sgte in place... ALOT of work and money though....... alot of custom fabrications.....

600HP would only really work properly with big old slick and set up for drag racing...... on roads with road tires, well i cant really imagine it :S

Adding to this, I would bet that a stripped CT9 powered 200bhp GT or 230+bhp TD04 starlet would utterly munter a 600bhp 3S-GTE powered starlet on a twisty track. All day long.

Lets not forget, 600bhp on a 3S-GTE not only costs the best part of 10k, but you'd have a turbo like a dinner plate. Yeh, granted you'd get 600bhp, but you won't hit full boost until 6k, and then you'd just light the tyres up and hit the limiter whilst symaltaniously understeering into the gravel pit/tyre wall.

A 1/4 mile strip weapon, maybe. A track/road monster? I think not sir.

/2 pence :homer:

They take longer to spool on our engines for Dan, even thou they are ball bearing due to them being bigger turbo's.

any coment via ur expireinced/ other guru's here is much apreciated

i on my way to build 5e fte n run my new set of vf28 ihi rhf 5 which i found on stI ver 5.( currently run ihi vj24 rhf5 @ my mech told to not surpass 1,1 bar with this turbo = although i have a set of metalgasket , bigeer injector rrpr bla ....bla....

shall that vf28 spool the very2 late aka masive lag on 5 e and my setup now towards 1.2bar daily boosting/1.5 bar track/drag. mostly this car spending life on track/ only few day per year become drag car. all the forgies shall be shiped soon.

p/s: any 1 know why SCAT dont make 5 E forged rod . scat is cheaper lol
