sussex GTI, you've had some great hot hatches. I've always fancied owning a pug gti, they are supposed to be great fun. Plus very tidy mk1 golf and ax gti.

My cars in order

  • mk1 golf 1.1 (3rd door in black - my favourite and wish I'd never sold it. I'll buy another one day)
  • Metro GTI (nicked 7 times, had to sell it)
  • Pug 106 1.1
  • Starlet Turbo EP82
  • Rover 216 GSI Auto (Awful - av. about 20mpg)
  • Citroen Xantia diesel
  • Mitsubishi FTO GPX (mivec) - sold for wedding
  • Rover 200d (bought for £650, lasted 3 years, only required oild changes and averaged 50mpg - fantastic runabout)
  • BMW 330D (very nice)
  • CBR 600f (very nice)
  • Mercedes C43 AMG 4.3ltr v8 - prefered the look of the merc, the drive of the BMW
  • Peugeot 1007 HDI sport (current)
  • Toyota Starlet EP82, TD04 (current track / wkend car)
I still haven't found anything that beats my golf mk1 for fun. It only had 4 gears and a 1.1ltr engine but was just great. As for power in a low cost hatch, the starlet is difficult to beat.

Hmm, my list goes like this.
1. 1969 Triumph Herald 13/60. If you want to learn about lift off oversteer, drive one of these
2. 1961 Austin A55 Cambridge. It had fins!
3.1984 Renault 11 GTL. Kept going but was shite
4. 1964 Hillman Super Minx
5. MGBGT 75th Anniversary edition.
6. 1971 VW camper Van with full original camper interior and pop top
7. Austin Allegro. Awesome!
8. 1980 2.3 V6 Ford Cortina. Tail happy fun.
9. VW Scirrocco
10 1963 Sunbeam Rapier
11. Mk 1 Golf gti Cabriolet
12. Mk1 MR2. The most fun you can have in a cheap car.
13. Glanza V.
I have always been in to 60's cars and older ones so that explains some of the cars. If you like drifting, just get any sixties saloon and put good old fashion cross ply tyres on.

wasted so much money on cars thinking the grass is always greener, when i had something fast , i'd want something economical and when i had something economical i would be wanting something fast that would give me a buzz.
now i think im going to turbo the pug with a 406 sri lump or get an Evo 2 only time will tell.
