Hi thanks for advice, I have ordered new belt and seals.

The worst fear came true as i discovered oil drips today, they seem to come from cam plug seal. I will open up and have a look soon.

Timing belt has been squeaking for about 10 secs every start up until it gets warm. Normally happens once in the morning. guess it gets tight when cold and stretches as warmed up. but i bet it now needs replaced as it might be covered in oil.

how do I ensure cam plug seal or crank seal is sealed properly. Do i need to add lube, or seal gasket or oil ? I have added oil and sealant on the outside but obviously did not work out for me. so need to get it wright this time.

Timing belts don't usually squeak, if it's a screeching that only happens initially in the mornings that'll more likely be your alternator belt. You can try tightening it by tensioning the alternator but a new one is under a tenner. It's the first sign of winter for most of us.

The intake cam seal just needs a smear of instant gasket on the outside to seal it 100%. Make certain it is sitting correctly in the end cap too.

If the exhaust cam seal is leaking make sure it is fitted flat and equally the whole way round. If it's damaged or old grab a new one from Toyota to be sure. You just need a light coating of oil on the new one when fitting.
