Depends what you want from your car, TMIC is probably good for 200bhp (uprated arc)

BUt FMIC looks so sexy and I doubt you would notice the lag thata much :)

If staying with a standard ct9 an ARC or RX7 topmount would be fine IMO. If you are going hybrid or bigger turbo then front mount. Most people get one for the looks if they are on a standard turbo.

stock ct9 would produce more heat than a larger turbo 99% of the time. so its as necessary on a ct9 as a tdo4.

ive had an arc on mine and decided its best to go front mount if your at 1 bar or so

But the turbo has to fill a larger volume so has to work harder. Most turbos at 1bar will be ok on an uprated top mount.

The standard top mount is good for 0.8 bar, Rex one i'd say 1 bar CT9, an ARC however is perfectly fine for a CT9 Hybrid 1bar, 1.1bar etc.. some blitz turbo's too k24 etc.

I dont see why anyone hasnt tried a td04 at 1bar on an ARC, would be nice to see.. would produce the same if not less heat than the CT9 at 1 bar wouldnt it?

correct, as its not on the limit of its efficiency like the ct9 it will produce less heat.

Well i have a FMIC setup with my ct9 and i didnt get it for looks at all. I got it cause i wanted what imo was best for my car!

All u have to do is monitor intake temps on a starlet with a top mount and then with a FMIC and the figures speak for themselves.

I didnt notice any lag what so ever and at standard boost stil with the fmic on pulled so much better on motorway etc. But now with 0.90bar i wouldnt dream of having a tmic.

If you get a FMIC that has been properly designed you want get huge pressure drops as you would with some of the cheaper kits on the market. I fitted an HDI FMIC kit on my EP82 and compared to my custom FMIC i had on it the HDI kit really improved the response of the turbo and boost did develop quicker at lower RPM.

I would highly recommend one over a TMIC.
