Turbo Diesel Oil in GT?

After waiting over 7 days for some Mobil S Super 10w40 Semi Synthetic to arrive, I eventually opened it, and they sent me the Turbo Diesel variant.

Pissed off I was.

So cant this be used in my GT or would it have some detrimental effect, as iv read about it possibly having "detergents" in and things, for cleanliness.

Failing that can it be used to top up a 09 plate Leon TDi as i could sell it to recoop some costs back. Sending back to the supplier and waiting again is not an option.

Ta.

Message the oilman on here. He is a registered trader on here so easy to find.

he could tell you if it can be used for the Leon tdi.

Thread similar to this came up not long ago, there oils are used in both petrol and diesal engines.

An extra high performance motor oil for all types of modern vehicles including high performance and turbo charged engines. Delivers outstanding engine cleanliness and protection against wear at high temperatures and under severe operating conditions. Mobil Super S 10W/40 5L Car Engine Oil is specifically recommended for use in all high performance, turbo-charged petrol and diesel engines, as well as older normally aspirated models. Mobil Super S 10W-40 is an excellent choice for passenger cars, light trucks and vans.

a lot of oils are for either these days my view is they only become fuel specific if it means they can make more money lol, why would you wait 7 days for mobil oil anyway? you can get that at most high street car shops?

This is fully agree with, similar to the whole ATF Fluid for gearboxes, i actually think and many gearbox specialists will say ATF is far better its only labelled not to use so they can make money by selling you a "manual" one. Alot of old tosh.

Ah yeah this i know! I was just on eBay, and thought id get some cos it saves me going to that Halfrauds place. Then i notice they have some Mobil stuff that is cheaper (iirc £22 on offer) than waht i bought, £27 del, and then came across Opies website that had WAAAAY fab deals going on to add to the misery, but as it turns out, all is good!!

So thank you!!
