turbo timer problem

hey people
got a hks turbo timer in my car
sometimes when i go to turn the car off instead of the turbo timer counting down as it shud it engages the starter motor instead and makes a harsh noise
cant make out what the proplem is its got a good earth and wires are connected right using the harness
any help would be great

not sure about the hks, but on the greddy timer you can alter which wire is the switch wire. maybe you need to set it on your timer/ check out the instructions.

it is a bit odd that its only sometimes though????

i got the proper wiring harness for the timer but i dont think u can switch wires on it
it might only happen maybe once a month but it not doing my starter any good when it does happen:)
really need to get it sorted its annoying

Mine does the same now and then, cant figure it out at all...

Have rewired the timer 4 time's now but still does it...

you dont switch wires mate. if its like the GReddy unit it has a toggle type switch on the back and a setting in the turbo timer you can change too.

No i an't, cant remember wot mine is tbh...

I find the if i got the stearing wheel strait and i turn the key slowly it does not do it...

deff cant change as iv been through all setting on the timer but ill have a look for switch
but if it was swith related wouldnt i have this problem all the time

Check the wiring around the steering column is not caught, damaged or broken lads. Somebody local had the same issue and it was a trapped wire.

that shit is happening to me!!! i pull the keys out and a dirty crunching noise happens like its the starter motor. i checked the wires and there are fine. what i figured out was it happened when the steering wheel was in the 'locked' position and when i removed the key it happened. since then i make sure its straight and it doesnt happen..............so far. i have d69er old razr turbo timer

thats exactly what happens to mine really annoying taught it was a faulty turbo timer but its brand new and i tried another one and its the same
