Ive got a set of 14 inch lightweight steel wheels...

im thinking of putting a set of pirelli 185/60/14 on there...

as mine r 205/70(poss 65)/14 on mine i think!

going round corners it keeps giving way, and it seems to be going onto the tyre wall

would the 185/60/14 handle better or... shall i go for 195 45 14?

I messed about with a few different profiles on my last auto GT. It had 14" lightweights on it.

65 profile were hilariously bad in the corners, 55 profile were much better and I finally nailed a really good setup using 195/45/14 tyres.

I had that car handling just how I wanted it. Pity the tyres didn't fill the arches - they made the wheels look tiny.

i'm using 185/60 14" Pirilli P6000 on mine and they are great, no issues with handling or grip, nice and sticky too.

205/70/14's have too high a side wall. I have 205's on the front of The Bitch and they're 205/40/16. Previously, I was running 195/45/16's. As a general rule of thumb, the profile reduces by 5 for every inch the tyre increases in size. I say general because the profile of the tyres is a percentage of the width, so 195/45/16 tyre will have a larger wall size than a 195/40/16.

You need to be aiming for roughly a 205/55/14 size, but it's best to check that out.
