We sell them for the same retail so there isn't any point going direct when you can deal with a company that specialise in Starlets and can actually advise on the correct ones to go for as they won't go over each case individually.

i think in most peoples opinions cams are only needed when you want more than 250bhp, thats why the other chaps asked you what youre doing with your engine mate

this may be peoples opinions, but you can gain a crap load of mid range power, or top end power, with fairly mild mods with a well spec-ed out set of cams.

biggest thing you need to have is either an Emanage with fuel & ignition harness, or a full ECU of some kind to tune the engine to suit the new fuel and ignition requirements.

if you can afford it definately get billet cams over reprofiling an existing set. they will last much longer, and are less likely to break down the face during run in.

This is why I was considering cams. No for all out power, but I am running 265hp at the moment.

Spent too much money, think I need to give it a rest for a while!

it does depend on what setup he is going to run though.

if he is sticking to ct9/ct9 hybrid then sticking uprated cams in wont make much difference.

if he was to go td04/k24/k26 etc etc though, then it will be worth it.

i beg to differ

how does 10 hp atw peak sound, and max of about 15hp in the mid range, just from sticking stock 5efhe cams into a 4efte sound? without even a tune?

They will make a small difference but those HP figures would depend on so many variables, every engine is different not forgetting how restrictive Toyota heads are in the first place.

We quite often fit 5efhe cams and they have netted us good results, Tom managed 273@ fly running with a TD04 kit at 1.3 bar which isn't shy at all...
