Just a silly reason, i cant remember off the top of my head (and i was there at the time too lol). You know how it is sometimes :p

I know what you mean Monkfish, there is something not quite right at all...

We spoke to WRC Sales, and the guy their has been very helpful, and cannot find ANY reason why this could have happened. I highly doubt (as some people have thought) that they have had any involvement in anything dodgy which may/may not have happened. The car is plastered with WRC Sales stickers too... See where i'm coming from?

I can't imagine how the DVLA have fucked up, but its the only thing i can think of... Then again, i was pulled over in my old starlet a few times, and it never posed a problem, but my car was showing as a HILUX (car/4x4 thing) and not a motorbike, so maybe that went unnoticed.

The discrepancy with my car was amended (seemingly) automatically, which lead me to believe it was just a normal thing with a plate being assigned/changed over. Just takes time for the paperwork to go through? The same happened when i put my private plate onto my old Xsara, the plate wasn't showing as linked to any car (through an insurance website/DVLA) for a noticable amount of time (days/weeks/can't remember exactly). During which i was ordered to return a producer (hortie!) to the local police station.

Its all guesswork atm i guess, but i'll post up anything new that occurs as and when i find out ;)

no knews yet folks, wrc and dvla cant see any problem with the car but the police still strongly believe that the car is stolen.it should be getting looked over by her majestys finest any time now but they have not got back to him yet.but he is now taking legal action to try and speed things up by contacting his lawyer, fingers crossed it may get sorted out this week and he could have the teg back very soon

Best of luck to him and i hope he gets it sorted. I bought my Glanza from WRC sales, I hope it's not registered as a Grasshopper or something!
Seriously though, they seemed very helpful when i bought my car from them and offered help if i needed anything for it in the future.

Alright, he got a letter through today to say he can come collect it anytime now! :D

They were under the impression that the bulkhead was "too clean" and that the real chassis number had been "cataloyed" over and a new one written in.

How ridiculous. On the plus side, its all over now, hopefully the car is as mint as it was when it went in!

i totaly agree why should they get away with it, they have caused undue stress and hassel and taken the means of transport away from the guy to!

tell him to write a major letter of complaint, loss of earnings, stress, having to pay for transport etc...

he will defo get some of it back

was it a DC2 or DC5??? im so tempted to get a DC5

his is a DC2, but another mate of mine just got a brand new DC5 imported from japland through dicksons of perth i think. Came in with about 14 miles on it too. Its an incredible car, interior is mint and it bloody flies! The DC2 is a cracker too, interior isn't much different, and the seats are soo nice... I always thought the dc2 front end was the nicest - but i've always prefered older cars to be honest...

Either way, both mint cars!

And yea... He's on the case for some compo!
