urgent help needed

hi everyone,

right when i start to boost at about 2000-2500rpm my car voilently shakes and sorta feels like its misfiring but as soon as i hit about 4000rpm its fine and turbo starts boosting ok, it also smells of petrol quite bad out of the exhaust afterwards

someone has told me is could be a bent valve but im hoping its not and was wondering if anyone has had the same problem?

ive seen a few posts with people having same problem but no one ever out the outcome of what the actuall problem was

any help will be much appreciated and repd

Sounds like borderline fuel cut, what mods do you have mate?

i have the following:

full decat exhaust system
hybrid ct9 turbo
relocated filter
uprated mani
adjustable actuator
fcd

i was going to fit a walbro fuel pump aswell but as my car is drinking petrol like a bitch at the moment i didnt want it drinking more lol

how does the car idle man? what the state/colour of the plugs?

Does it smoke black? If it does it is badly over fuelling.
When did these symptoms start?

car idles a little bit lumpy but not too bad to be honest, havent looked at the plugs yet either.

car starts fine near enough everytime, i get the odd time where it takes a few seconds longer then normal and not really any black smoke out the back as far as i know

Can't be overfueling as you don't have a fpr or larger injectors etc. I would be looking at checking plugs,leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap. If your using a shed load of fuel, I would think that the ignition system isn't upto scratch and not firing/burning all the mixture.

ok sweet will give that a go and see what happens, should i just replace all of them or do you clean them all up or what?

Check the plugs for colour, gap and cracks in the ceramic. Check the leads for any perished parts, splits. Check for cracks in the dizzy cap and the contact points, make sure they are not worn down. The rotor arm is just a few £££ so worth replacing anyway. If your still running stock leads then these will probably be perished pretty bad.

ok sweet thankyou i will have to try check all these before it gets dark lol i still have the original leads so will buy some magnecor ones. i see there a few different types of them though so which ones would i need for an ep82 quadlight 94?

It could be the O2 sensor if its overfuelling.

the wire coming from the lambda sensor does look pretty fucked to be honest so will have to get a new one i think, does it come with a wire? if not where could i get one from?
