VOSA Check - Got Pulled

Ahh, topics like these always make me laugh.

Hmmm. Their spots need to be known!
Why? If your car is 100% legal, you have nothing to worry about.

Im sprry buy from recent experiences i absolute hate police. Unfortunatey not all of them are indecent, but it doesnt take many to tarnish them all with the same brush......

They really dont have anything better to do then to waste peoples time. Yes i know that thats what they get payed for and not all people are inecent but they do go OTT, bringing out dogs an shit, i mean COME ON!!!
Do not think that the Police tar anyone with a loud exhaust or modified car with the same brush? Especially given that they will have dealt with a shitload more arrogant and cocky twats than you have had bad cops?

theyre just tossers. i fucking hate the vosa crowd. think they know everything there is to know. Fuck them all i say :p
They're just doing their job, and for every 10 people they inconvenience or piss off, they will catch out someone with no tax, insurance, MOT or with a defective vehicle. I'd happily get pulled once a week if it meant that some twunt in a shonky, poorly modified or poorly maintained fuckbox go taken off the road and reamed.

i just think the police like pulling fast looking cars just to drive us mad:argue:
No, they pull anyone who looks to have been driving like a spanner. I'll admit that the Police do target modified cars, but there is a very good reason for that. I'd wager that out of a handful of 10 modified cars, 9 won't have declared their modifications. Instant insurance void there. How many cars have you seen driving around with stupidly dark tints on the windows? Plenty I bet. It isn't safe and it's a blatent disregard for other road users. They're dangerous enough on their own without some plum not being able to see where they are going added into the mix.

It's a shame a lot more people don't adopt the attitude Gee has...
Just an inconvenience more than anything. But I was just chilling

i hate shit like this, when i had my 1st car (vw polo) i got pulled all the time. would get stopped for "random stops" all the time. I work nights and used to get pulled atleast once a week, i wouldnt mind if i was driving like a knob or something but id be driving home sensibly and most of the time still wearing my hi vis. IMO someone driving at 3-6am wearing a hi vis isnt going to be causing trouble, just the police picking on a young lad in a hatchback with alloys!

Another thing that really gets me is declaring mods  why the fuck would i want to pay a shit load extra on my insurance for something that if i have an accident they wont cover anyways? I know im in wrong in the laws eyes, but common bloody sense should play a part somewhere along the line.

Oh and while im at it another thing, smoking cannabis whilst driving! I smoke cannabis openly, i dont think its anything to be ashamed of. In my 1st hand experiance i believe that driving whilst stoned doesnt affect your driving, if ive not been smoking i tend to drive alot quicker than i do if i have been. I drive slower & more cautiously if ive been smoking as i dont want to attract the attention of the police as i know its against the law. I truely believe that more studies should be done into driving whilst stoned (within reason) as im more than certain that it doesnt affect your driving. Drink driving is a far more dangerous than driving after you've had a joint or two. When you've had a few drinks you start to lose your balance etc as you all well know which can affect your driving significantly, wheras when your stoned you get none of this. I would fully support some kind of "drug" driving measure like a breathaliser type thing!

Im sure alot of people here share my views aswell as alot dont. I know i went a bit of topic but there you go :p

I totally disagree with you there, I think that driving while on drink or drugs should carry the exact same penalty and have severe punishments. I cant understand how a person could be so selfish and get behind the wheel of a car and drive while under the influence of drugs and/or alchohol and in doing so put other peoples lives at risk.

Tests have shown that drugs are an increasing problem with road traffic accidents and this includes prescribed medication. Those that do it should have the book thrown at them in my opinion! They havent released ads about driving on drugs for no reason - they have done the tests and the facts speak for themselves - and its on the increase. Also- not all people will react to the same drug the same way, so even if it makes you drive slower, whats to say it would not make another person drive quicker??

But back to this thread, and fair play to you Gee for having the right attitude about it. They were only doing there job and you had nothing to hide! It should be as simple as that, if you have nothing to hide, no check point should bother you :)

Yup, just doinf their job..but I know people are stereo typed by the way you may dress or look etc. Which is too bad.

But like I say, I had nothing to worry about anyway.

But it is true, for every 10 cars they may stop they find a % with no insurance of defective parts etc.

When I was there, there was a car loaded on to a truck taken away because the driver had no insurance. One of the coppers joked with my and advised to not go over any speed bumps due to it being so low, haha. And that one car that was taken away due to no insurance would not go on to the loader truck and was just scrapping across the floor haha.

At least he could have a laugh and joke about it. I know not all of them are like that. But there is no better feeling knowing that they can not find fault with your tax, insurance, MOT/NCT or the car in general. But people dont help themselves by giving attitude when being stopped. The more hassle you give them, the more they will probably give you :)

I hope you are joking. No, really.

Wikipedia said:
Cannabis has psychoactive and physiological effects when consumed. The minimum amount of THC required to have a perceptible psychoactive effect is about 10 micrograms per kilogram of body weight.[16] The most common short-term physical and neurological effects include increased heart rate, lowered blood pressure, impairment of psychomotor coordination, concentration, and short-term memory. Long-term effects are less clear.
I've highlighted the parts of interest.

I feel at this point it would be prudent to remind people that the Police often actively monitor car clubs/forums, especially high traffic ones such as TGTT, and you are setting yourself up for a slap from the fail-stick if you start posting openly on a public forum that you regularly break the Law. This is why "racing" threads are binned.

Totally disagree with you there fella. Yeah you might be driving more cautiously but your reactions are a HELL of a lot slower with cannabis than with alcohol because it is a far more severe depressant on the brain. Just think if a child fell into the road and you ran them over due to your slower braking time, Im sure you'd change your mind then! infact not so long back a lad who I used to go to school with has just got sent down for killing two people crossing the road whilst he was driving driving under the influence of cannabis!

You'll all now note the nice little red card and 10-day ban attached to ryanerak's account.

We on TGTT DO NOT condone any form of drug use on this site, ESPECIALLY whilst driving. This forum could be potentially read by countless organisations/authorities across the globe, and stupid posts like this could serve to damage this community.

Please think before you post, and above all, be responsible in your actions. Similar posts will be treated in the same way, and constant offenders will be banned permanently BANNED from this site.

They do it to catch people with no tax, insurance and defective parts etc. It is random, they don't check every car.

They do set up plates readers though that checks for valid tax etc etc and if the machine pulls up you have no tax or insurance, they radio up and pass the details of your vehicle to the check point so they know which car to pull over.

Yeah it was in the Civic. Would of been fun in the Glanza.

I got pulled in the Glanza for wearing no seat belt. He asked me if I had been working on the car. I said no why? He said, because there is no interior, LOL

And what is the fastest I have gone in the car. I replied, well I go on track where there is no limit and managed 145mph LOL

Still gave me a £30 fine though :D

Lol, reminds me of this joke:

Code:
RECTUM STRETCHER

While she was "flying" down the road yesterday (20 miles over the limit), a woman passed over a bridge only to find a speed cop with a radar gun on the other side lying in wait.

The cop pulled her over, walked up to the car, and with that classic patronizing smirk we all know and love, asked, "What's your hurry?"

To which she replied, "I'm late for work."

Oh yeah," said the cop, "what do you do?"

I'm a rectum stretcher," she responded.

The cop stammered, "A what?

A rectum stretcher?

And just what does a rectum stretcher do?"

Well," she said, "I start by inserting one finger, then work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four, then with my whole hand in. I work from side to side until I can get both hands in, and then I slowly but surely stretch, until it's about 6 feet wide."

"And just what the hell do you do with a 6 foot asshole?" he asked.

"You give him a radar gun and park him behind a bridge..."

Ticket ------------------ £95.00 Court Costs ----------- £45.00 Look on cops face ---- Priceless

Be more carefull with mines, i got pulled in starlet few months back, copper looks at me and looks my seat cover that the garages use when in the shop ( left it on). He just let me off. With the VTi, thatgot impounded, (another story). Some it up they just a waste of time! :holdit: :slap:

Couldn't agree more!

And with what Gee said - they are just doing their job at the end of the day!
If you have nothing to hide and everything on your car is ok then you shouldn't be scared to be stopped.

I've been stopped a few times in my old cars - 1 copper stopped me to ask about the car as he was interested in it :haha:
Another copper sopped me on a "Random Stop" then said that in his experience cars that had been properly modified were often better looked after than other standard cars!
I was even told "As you drive off give it some beans, I want to hear your exhaust" ROTFL!
