did all the cam caps go in the rite way and are u useing the maching set for that head ? all valves clearances must be check if ur swaping heads . did u take the service bolt out of the inletcam when u put it back in ?

i actualy have and did leave it in so it was stopping the cam gear from doing a full rotation!

The heads comming off again and is being sent for re-shimming. see if that cures it, its looking like it should, i hope to god it does!

well by the sounds of it when the valves where replaced u didnt get them seated.. also seems like shims are mixed up, so their clearances are awol.. apart from that for a piston to hit a valve u need to be really out timing wise...

remove head & check everything bud. also get the head skimmed.

imo id get a new head as sounds like theres alot of complications in ur current one, which being from the uk would kill u labour cost wise..

just my 2p.

its a new head i got it from idrees and its been skimmed + tested i fitted it and then this problem occured, ive sorted the timing out n now its off for shimming + the valves laping (re-seating). hopefully this will cure it. ive saved a lot of labour charges cos im doing it all myself, except the engineering sort of jobs.

would you just be better off replacing the head as there is something obviously not right since it dropped a valve. did you replace the valve guides and seals, new valve seats if they were damaged, and ground them in?

My head use to make a loud ticking/knocking sound a while back, turns out the cam gear wasn't tensioned/aligned properly. After gorganl made a quick adjust it was completely quiet afterwards. He taught me what you need to do, but I have forgotten the details since I never needed to use that knowledge till now :(

Found out that the big end bearing shell on no.1 piston has collapsed! Its scored and marked the crankshaft so it needs re-grinding! Im thinking im going to buy a forged engine like i should have in the 1st place, that will sort the problem out once and for all!

Thanks for all the help guys!
